First of all I very much like the ESV. I use the ESV translation and the NLT 2004 Edition almost exclusively. The binding is stitched and very strong. The type set used is very dark and sharp for reading longer periods of time. The Bible is not overly large to become cumbersome to carry. This ESV edition has suggestions for various ceremonies along with resources for a plan of salvation, answers to tough questions, helping people to change/Christian counseling and a plan for discipleship. All of these are very useful and well done. This has become my "Everyday Bible". I highly recommend this Bible.

This Bible far exceeded my expectations! I have fallen in love with the ESV translation for its accuracy and readability. For $29.99 I expected a bonded leather cover and super small print. To my amazement this bible has a rich, beautiful leather cover and very readable text. Bonus material for ministers just adds to the appeal, but anyone would be proud to own this bible! I bought one for myself and one for a fellow pastor! You won't be disappointed! Excellent value.

Bought two of these, one for personal use in services so I don't have to lug around my study Bible, and one to give away to the "best Bible class student" for summer camp. It meets my expectations and even with it being "slightly damaged" or whatever the term is, it is of great quality. Would definitely recommend this for anyone looking for a new Bible.

This bible is excellent. Not only does it have great minister helps, but the reference system is really good. I love the supple leather. It feels wonderful in my hand. The binding is sewn stitched and the bible is very well made. I really really love this product. For the quality you get I should have paid twice as much.

I got this Bible as a Christmas Gift and I say it is the best Bible I have ever had. The English Standard Version is by far my favorite translation of Bible. This Bible has a lot of helps in the back on weddings, funerals, baby dedication, graduations, etc. I know this Bible will last for a long time.

This Bible has everything for the busy minister on the go, both novice and experienced. From key bible promises to how to conduct funerals/weddings, this bible has it all!
The genuine leather cover is VERY thick, and the grain is smooth and beautiful. This bible has a presentation page, but no family records sections. The text is in black letter, and the print is consistent. The bible has a sewn binding, which makes it lie flat and enables it to stand up better over years of heavy use.
The paper is rather thick and opaque, which is one of my favorite features of this bible. The maps are colorful, attractive, and accurate. It has two ribbon markers that are average. They aren't too thick, but it isn't a big deal with me.
This edition is equivalent to a normal size bible, and the text is set at a 9 point font. This bible is printed in China.

The minister's features are nice. The Bible itself is nice. We ordered a slightly damaged one for a great price and still haven't found the damage! Nice print and its light weight for its size. Very nice! Good feel and good size in hand.

First of all, I ordered the calfskin (deluxe) edition. The leather is amazing, smooth, beautiful, flexible, leather lined. The paper quality is good, off white cream. The ESV text is great (though I would like to have seen bigger verse numbers, and a verse by verse format as opposed to paragraph, but that is a personal preference of mine for preaching) and the minister helps in the back are outstanding. The problem came in with the binding. When it first arrive the back pages that hold the leather in where coming out and splitting. I have preached out of it maybe 3 times and by the 2nd I had to duct tape the back pages in. Yesterday the presentation page fell out all on its own and that is when I knew that this bible just wasn't going to cut it, (regardless of how much i loved the beautiful buttery calfskin cover, oh and the RAISED SPINE BANDS!!!) as I tend to be moderately hard on my bibles. I can compare this bible's craftsmanship to gilding a turd in 18 carrot gold. The cover is great, the text block is poor. Beware before you buy! If your looking for a calfskin bible with a binding made to last, go with Crossway's ESV calfskins, or R.L. Allan, or Local Church bible publishers (only $50 and superior craftsmanship, though they only produce KJV). God bless everyone, for $100 I am very disappointed, I was looking forward to many years of use out of this bible, for a ministry companion, sadly the poor fellow only made it half a month....

First of all I do appreciate the confidence we can have in Christian Books, and that is a story on its own.
The ESV. Bible I have found to be a wonderful translation for our times using a language that most of us would be comfortable with, I find it is what I use most on powerpoint, people understand it, which is surely the reason, (Neh 8:12 And all the people went their way to eat and drink and to send portions and to make great rejoicing, because they had understood the words that were declared to them.)
The leather and paper quality is very good, I like the sub headings, and font size is nice (about a 9) references are good, I like the lay out of the concordance and maps.

This Bible combines my preferred ESV translation with a host of useful pastoral resources. The binding is attractive and durable, and the font of sufficient size to permit its use in the pulpit. It is the Bible that goes everywhere I go.

I ordered this Bible initially as a resource for myelf thinking the sale price was worth the purchase. When it arrived I was more than pleasantly surprised. The quality of the BIbe, font size, portability and user freindliness makes it the Bible I will use throughout my ministry.
I purchased a second one as a gift for my son who is entering ministry himself.
I recommend this bible not just for fultime pastors, but also christian workers who are involved in visitation and outreach ministries

My wife got me this as a Christmas present and let me tell you, it's the greatest gift she's gotten me yet. Being a "young" and new pastor, I have researched which bible translation would be best for me in my studies. Time and again people seem to come back to the ESV. This bible is well made. It lies flat in your hand (a big bonus for me), has adequate size font for reading, a sturdy leather binding, and that great leather smell (which hopefully sticks around for awhile b/c it reminds me of my old Rawlings baseball glove).
I've had lots of other bibles and other translations before. KJV, NIV, NLT, NRSV, Good News Bible, you name it. But far and away, this ESV Minister's Bible is the best one I've ever seen. I would recommend it to any clergyman who wants to get serious about studying God's Word with a classy looking and very functional bible.

At first I hesitated a bit to order this Bible because of it's incomplete description and detail (not being able to know the size of the print is kind of a big deal to me personally. By the way it is a 9.5 print). But after some research on the manufacture's website I was reassured of my questions and decided to order it. I just want to say that I was surprised at the quality of this Bible! Recently I have ordered several different versions of the ESV trying to find the perfect fit for my life and I think that I might have very well found it. The cover is great. I have ordered a couple crossway "genuine leather" bibles and they are less than genuine. The leather on this Bible actually feels and looks like leather! Go figure... I know that a few people complained about a "smell", not sure what there referring to, but mine definitely only smelled like leather, so...? The print is good and dark in tint and uniformly consistant, the paper has a good weight to it and the minister helps are great. Overall I give this Bible a passing grade not being able to find any fault with it. I hope this helps. Happy studies everyone!
