I have always wanted Matthew Henry's Commentary. Had it on my computer with my bible software but I would rather read it on paper. I find it easier than looking at a screen all the time. I feel so blessed. And of course, the price was so right.

I used an older set (which belonged to a friend) while I was studying at the School of Ministry. I have but one complaint, the text is a bit small for these old eyes - however, I do understand that getting this much information to us requires small print.

This commentary set had been on my wish-list for quite some time. Alas, the time was right and the price was right. Nice print in a very attractive set. I've begun referring to this as I study Scripture and always find some helpful tidbits of info therein. I continue to be amazed at these pre-computer and pre-word processor authors: the effort expended to amass such copious works had to be tremendous, yet it was done all in the cause of serving the Lord. Not to mention the many insights obtained by these servants through years of study and lives devoted to Christ. To God be the glory!

This book set is a must for anyone who is serious about understanding the Bible. I had heard that the print was very small, but I found that it is easy to read. I love that it is in 6 volumes as that makes it easier to hold. I am very happy to finally have my own copy.

I absolutely love it, the scripture passage is printed in bold before each section of commentary, so you always know exactly where to go, no skimming to try and find the section you want.
I was using Matthew Henry's concise commentary but sometimes needed more, so I got this collection and the binding is really nice.
The volumes are wide enough to open and sit down flat without too much trouble, and since it is 6 volumes it is not bulky and hard to manage if you are juggling a bible and a note pad as well.

M.H. has been my bible mentor since 1971and I love his work very much. How he could do all the work that went into his books actually astounds me. The K.J.V was only 5o or 60 years old at the time of his commentary.Truly a masterpiece of bible knowledge and spiritual insite for people who love the word and want to grow in the Lord. I recomend this work for anyone with a hunger for the word

I had one of those abridged versions when I was in college and I got the impression that Matthew Henry's commentary was shallow. Boy was I wrong! This commentary is exhaustive. It is no doubt the best devotional/expositional commentary from the yesteryears. It is filled with so much applicable truths and for the pulpit, it provides invaluable seed thoughts for the sermon.
For advanced students/preachers start with your exegetical commentaries but make sure you end with this one. God's truth must not only be apprehended intellectually, it must also be applied practically and this commentary helps you do that. For those who are worried about the English, no need. Though written more than 300years ago, it actually reads like it was written 3years ago (A little exaggeration there of course).
For this price there is no excuse to purchase those abridged versions (which in my view are a travesty of this magisterial work).

This is an excellent resource to have at hand, even if it does not meet the standards of modern academia. Unfortunately two of the books were damaged on arrival, but other than that, I have no complaints.

Great price and quality. Only negative is the size of the print. This is a prime consideration for me as I am a bookworm who suffers from vision problems brought on by so much reading. This is the only reason that I buy so little from your company. Your selection of items is otherwise awesome and nicely priced.

I am a Sunday School teacher and this set of commentaries has become invaluable to me. It gives great information and adds a dimension to teaching that makes me want to learn even more about the word of God.
My only hesitation is the size of the font. I wish this came in a larger print. I wholly recommend this set as an additional means of presenting the word of God to his people. Also, it is not written in such a way that one would benefit only if they are currently attending seminary. This set is good for the novice student also. Great offer, Great price CBC!!!
