Harpercollins Publishing The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,

This is the story that introduced readers to the wonders and enchantment of Narnia almost fifty years ago. Since then millions of readers have been captivated by the story of four children who step through a magic wardrobe into Narnia, once the peaceful land of Talking Beasts, Dwarfs, Giants, and Fauns, but now frozen into winter by the evil White Witch.

The classic story by C. S. Lewis has been adapted into a picture book for younger children, with text by Hiawyn Orem and artwork by Tudor Humphries. Recommended for ages 4 to 8.

Of course this book should not replace the reading of the actual novel, but what a bonus it is to have extra pictures (beautiful ones!) to show my 7 year old, as I read her the full version of the story. and she can read this one to herself, which is wonderful for her. But for me, it really is nice for her to have the larger, color illustrations to look at as I read the original version of the story to her. I am very happy with this purchase & I do recommend it to anyone with a young child getting into the world of Narnia.
and once again, ChristianBook shipped this out super fast at no extra cost. Very pleased with the service of this website

This is a simpler version for young children that seems to stay true to the meaning and intent of C.S. Lewis. My 4 year-old daughter loved it and she loved the illustrations.

Before you order this book, there is one particular line in this version that you should be aware of. My daughter loves this story, and I cherish teaching her how Aslan symbolizes Jesus, our Savior who died for us. But the author of this particular book chose a disappointing and inaccurate portrayal of the powerful lion. After Edmond has been wounded in battle, and is getting well-deserved praise for destoying the White Witch's wand, Aslan is quoted as saying "Even I might be a statue (if Edmond had not destroyed her wand)." Aslan, as Jesus, is all-powerful and would have never been in any type of danger of falling to the witch, just as Jesus is always and forever victorious over Satan, and never at any point, was in danger of losing this eternal battle. If you're looking for a version of this story true to the gospel after which it was modeled, I'd look for a different book than the one by Hiawyn Oram.
