We love this simple to use and straight-forward series and Workbook 5 is no dissapointment. My sons have benefited from the familiar lessons, minimal writing and aren't distracted by too much color or pictures. An economical way to teach and/or reinforce phonics.

This is an excellent workbook. My daughter just finished her kindergarten and she loves this workbooks and wanted to work on Workbook5 as well as workbook6 over the summer vacation.

This workbook is successful in teaching phonics to a struggling reader of any age. The method is progressive with each exercise building on the next. The lessons progress slowly with lots of review so that the sttudent is not rushed or overwhelmed, and reinforcing memory. The lessons are highly structured so that the student can see phonics patterns and apply them to sounding out new words. Each workbook in the series 1-6 focuses on skills such as short vowels (book 1), long vowels (book 2, consonant blends (book 3,4), and digraphs and diphthongs (book 5). I have used workbooks 1 thru 4 with amazing success. I have all 6 workbooks. The student is encouraged by a feeling of success.
