I got a few copies to give out to some friends. I find that a good prayer life is often neglected in the Church (at least in my circles), so this is a good tool for somebody who wants to start building some regular prayer time.

I purchased two of these books, at first for myself & for our adult sunday school leader. As it turned out, everyone in our class wanted one. I also was able to hand one to the telephone repairman who came over to fix my internet. This is a very enlighting book & explains alot about prayer. By the way, I am a Methodist & John Wesley of course is our founder. Thank you for the chance to express myself.

I found Mr. Wesley's little book to be full of pointed directions for the maturing CHRISTIAN. He assumes maturity in CHRIST is a road that has big potholes and little potholes. Everyone is generally aware of the big ones but not many try to fix the little ones and soon there prayer life is not working. Intimacy with GOD requires fixing the little problems daily. Then our prayer life with GOD is beautiful.

This is a good book in the sense that it has much material regaring prayer that is contained in the writings of John Wesley. The bad part is it is simply a collection of selections form his writings that have the word "prayer" in them. It is set up in small, devotion like one page sections. There is not a topical or instructional basis for the book, just a collection of one page snippets that all have at one or more points the word "prayer". Having read and studied much of Wesley's standard sermons I was hoping for so much more. It just seemed random.
