I love reading about the Amish, though I found this book a bit repeatative , I would still recommend it to people who would like an easy read, and as always the teaching of God's truth, and amazing love abound through the book. Trusting Him with our future and all our needs.

I am not going to go one by one on all the books I ordered as each one of them is excellent. They are good, clean, Christian books to read. I really enjoy all of them.

Loraine Miller promised Wayne Lambright that she would love him forever, and agrees to be his bride. But when Loraine, and 7 other friends and cousins are involved in a fatal accident, those that remain face numerous obstacles. Wayne wakes up to find himself crippled, and Loraine is there by his side supporting him as he deals with his loss. But Wayne feels like half a man, and tells Loraine that the wedding is off.
Then Jake Beechy, Loraine's old boyfriend, comes back to town. Wayne does what he can to get Jake and Loraine back together, but Loraine stubbornly persists that she promised Wayne forever and meant it. Meanwhile, Jake struggles to get her back despite his blame in the reason they broke apart in the first place. Will Wayne and Loraine work through his injury and make a home together? Or will Jake be the one to win Loraine's hand in marriage?
This story was a classic tale of a girl caught between two excellent choices, while struggling to make the right decision and sticking to her promises. I learned a lot about the Amish from Indiana, and the plot kept my interest the entire book. I liked how simple the language was, and despite the abundance of characters, I was able to keep everyone straight.
The accident portrayed in this book really opened my eyes to how suddenly life can change - and the true struggles people will face in light of that tragedy. This book was a good reminder that God controls our lives, in the good times and the bad.

This is a cute story about the struggles and tribulations among several close cousins who all live the Amish way of life. It isnt until the end that the reader sees the just how important faith is for all Christians. This book reminded me of when and why God can and cant give me blessings. I look forward to reading the other 2 books in the series.

I just couldn't get into the book, the conversations were repetitive and the storyline very predable. The storyline sounded promising, and I could really understand how Wayne felt, but overall the book was a huge disappointment.

The first in the series "Indiana Cousins" and a great book as always when Wanda Brunstetter writes about the Amish.
This one starts with a group of the Amish young single people on their way to Hershey Park for a day of fun, they had hired an English driver and with no knowledge what lay ahead for them.
As a bee got in the van and Katie started trying to get someone to get it out and the driver looked back for a second and that was all it took as they swerved onto the wrong side of the road and meet a large truck. When some of them awoke they were broken up and three were killed. No one imagined how this was going to affect their young lives in the future.
As you read this book, you hurt and even cry with these young people. Some of them were engaged and this affected them. Will anything ever get back to normal in the Amish community in Indiana.
This book was sent to me by Barbour Publishing for my review.

Haven't read any of Wanda Brunsetter's books before, and at first wasn't sure I was going to like it (mainly because I started reading it late at night and the story starts with a tragedy) ... not the sort of thing you want to be reading before going to sleep!! But, as it turns out, it is a very good book - can't put it down - and I'm very glad I've bought the whole series. Good buy!!

If you like stories of the Amish community, you will like this book. However, compared to other books by Ms. Brunstetter that I have read, this one moves a little slowly. Maybe the sequel will be paced a little faster. Enjoy.

While this wasn't among my favorite Amish ficiton novels, it was definitely worth the time to read it. I enjoyed the issue of disability being addressed, especially within the Amish community. I have since read book two and look forward to book three.
