As a homeschooling mother of many, I am always on the lookout for educational films that will fuel my children’s enthusiasm for learning. I found one today.
George Washington Carver: An Uncommon Way from Franklin Springs is an excellent introduction/overview of the life of a truly great man. Narrated by Dr. Voddie Baucham, this film entertains as it enlightens. In 47 minutes running time, we learn of Mr. Carver’s great faith in our Great Creator, of God’s providential care of him, of his humble beginnings and his great achievements. Through reenactments, photographs, interviews and vivid details, we are offered insights into what fueled Mr. Carver’s love of learning and his passion for discovery. His courage in the face of prejudice and setbacks is heartening and offers a wonderful example to all.
The quality of this production is outstanding as is its value. It is extremely well done, beautifully photographed, encouraging and inspiring. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

God had His hands all over him, in spite of all of his hardships. I was so blessed, but so hurt, that race make some hate and others lives so hard. What god has ordained man can't halt. more! more! Loved this bit of our history.

I love this film! It was very, very educational and interesting. I learned so much about this brilliant man. Carver was a man who loved to study science, and loved the God of creation. I also enjoyed hearing from many thoughtful and learned historians. Voddie Baucham did a fantastic job as the narrator. I highly recommend!
