Alexis and Bailey are off to Lake Tahoe to do a documentary at a nearby animal refuge, until the refuge begins to receive threats. With animals being poisoned, bears being woken up from hibernation in the winter, and threatening letters, the refuge is in danger of being shut down . . . that is unless the Camp Club Girls can figure out who is behind all of this! Using their unique skills and gadgets, will the girls be able to find the culprit before danger finds them?

Alexis and the Lake Tahoe Tumult is definitely one of the best books in the entire Camp Club Girls Series. Although practically all of the Camp Club Girls books are amazing, this one was unusually exciting. It is packed with action as well as spiritual content. This book is definitely for animal lovers, since it focuses on an animal refuge located near Lake Tahoe. Some ruthless, cruel person or people is purposely harming the animals, and the animal refuge owners, Jake and Karen, are receiving threat letters from a person or people who, for some reason, dislike their business. This is what makes the book suspenseful, since the two young detectives do not discover who the person or people are until very close to the end. Although this is an amazing book there is one part that could have been better. During an action scene, they have a very narrow escape with a bear awoken from hibernation. Later on, Alexis is telling her father about their adventure, but fails to mention just how close she and Bailey had been when it happened. She should have told her father just how near they had been to the bear. Aside from this, Alexis and the Lake Tahoe Tumult deserves even more than a five star rating.

Review: Alexis and The Lake Tahoe Tumult - Camp Club Girls Series - May 2011
This is the second book I have read so far in the Camp Club Girls series and they both feature Bailey and another of the Camp Club Girls. In Alexis and the Lake Tahoe Tumult we see Alexis Howell and her family along with best friend Bailey off for a week's vacation to Lake Tahoe. However, for Alexis and Bailey - they have more important things to focus on , like filming a documentary of the Lake Tahoe Wildlife Reserve as the two of them are entering in a film making competiton run by Disney Channel ( which by the way , I love every now and again) and the winner gets their documentary filmed on Disney Channel and the chance to win scholarship money. Though when Alexis and Bailey arrive, things seem a bit on edge as the owners Jake and Karen have been recieving threat mail, strange occurences have been going on at the park. Now with the help of the other Camp Club Girls via Skype and Instant Messaging, emailing etc, Alexis and Bailey are ready to solve the mystery of the Lake Tahoe Happenings, but are they even over their head when Alexis is hurt with a BB Gun ?
Find out in this amazing series , that I highly recommend all teen and tween girls to read especially if you enjoyed Melody Carlson's 622 HarborView Park and Nancy Rue's Lily's series
