The final installment of the fabulous Brides of Bonneterre series concludes with A Case for Love.
I'll be honest...I was a little nervous heading into this last book simply because this book carried more of a male perspective than the previous two books. But hey, it didn't take long to put those nervous flutters to bed with such a dashing male hero! Forbes Guidry was painted quite well as the epitome of success in his law career, but has just one thing missing from his life...a woman.
Alaine took a little while to grow on me. At first, she seemed a little uppity with her tv program that she was bored with, along with her dismissal of Forbes' company. The latter soon became understandable, but there was absolutely nothing that would keep these two apart! Slowly but surely, their self-built walls started to crumble, and the fight was on to save a budding relationship amidst a nasty lawsuit.
This book had everything that I love--Southern charm, at least one character with sass, and the perfect dose of romance. I absolutely cannot wait to dive into some of Kaye's historical fiction next, even though I'm confident of one thing...she's a master at contemporary romance!

Alaine Delacroix is a society reporter for the city of Bonneterre, Louisiana and she is on the hunt for a husband and a promotion at the news station. She is up against the biggest corporation in town to save her family's business, and Forbes Guidry is just the lawyer to help her. Forbes is committed to helping the small businesses in Bonneterre, even though it means going against his parent's company. Will Alaine be able to overlook Forbes conflict of interest and fall in love with him? Or will the very thought of who he is and what he represents keep her from listening to her heart?
The last book in the Brides of Bonneterre Series, it was a charming and enjoyable story. The characters were known to me from the previous two books, and it was well worth the read. The law and business elements were intriguing, and the story is very believable and tender as romance stories go. While realistically I wasn't sure that people in Forbes and Alaine's situation would have fallen in love, stranger things have happened in real life. So in the end, it is a recommended read if you like a good romance to pass the time away.

This book was better than the previous two in this series. It started out being good and then toward the end it started getting cheesy. I only bought the series because the prices were marked way down.

I've read this series....twice. I usually donate the many books I read to my church library and I was about to do the same with this series but could not. I felt I was giving away part of my family. This may sound unusual, nay...more like crazy, but that's the truth. I'll wait a few months & read these books again, then maybe I'll be able to let them go. Excellent read!

This is the third book in the Brides of Bonneterre series and it is as great as the first book. It is Forbes Guidrys turn to shine. He makes appearances in the first two books as a likeable but domineering family protector. Forbes (who in my head looks like Robert Downing Jr. as Tony Stark) always seemed more three-dimensional character than other secondary characters. I guess I connected with him since Im a bit of a control freak myself. Alaine appeared in the second book of the series and it was nice to see her make a return, even though I didnt like her very much at the beginning.As usual, Dacus weaves an intricate story with lots of memorable characters. Im always amazed how she is able to juggle so many characters but not leave you feeling overwhelmed. She already had a full cast with the Guidry and extended family but she manages to fit more wonderful characters in this book. I connected with each character and all the work Dacus puts into character development shines through each person.The plot moves a long and again, Dacus shows her skill in weaving multiple subplots together and tying up them nicely. Even though the plot may seem familiar, big business vs. mom and pop, I still enjoyed the way the novel brings to life the people involved in that struggle. The book is well paced with no slow spots.I also think the themes in the book are timely ones. I loved Alain and Forbes struggle with appearing to be one way but dealing with the truth of who they are. The idea of a big time lawyer standing up for the little people and the importance of integrity kept me hooked. And of course, Dacus has a way with dealing with being single with a realistic flare.Kaye Dacus has written another great book and I hope there are more books to this series.

Kaye Dacus attention to simple details brought me the taste and feel of Louisiana. I love being transported to new places through the pages of fiction! This is more than a love story though I appreciated Forbes swift fall into love. His relentless pursuit of Alaine was definitely swoonworthy! But the legal case they are embroiled in had me turning pages at an alarming speed. I loved the character growth in both Forbes and Alaine and how it paralleled each other. They both made career moves they hadnt planned on couldnt have even dreamed of at the beginning of the book but their individual journeys were both believable and inspiring.

A Case for Love is book three of Kaye Dacus Brides of Bonterre series. This series has continued to satisfy, with my favorite being A Case for Love. We meet lawyer Forbes Guidry, the glue that seems to hold the Guidry family together, in over his head for the first time in his life. How can he go against his family the family that taught him about life, love, and more importantly, the love of God? The family to which he has publicly pledged his loyalty? Enter a beautiful reporter with a family of her own, a family in trouble, and the only person who can help them is one Forbes Guidry. Can she trust him, knowing that his family seems to hold all the cards concerning the livelihood of her family and their old neighborhood? Can he step out on faith and prove that he is not just a Guidry, but a man in his own right? Believe me, you wont be able to put this one down as it barrels to a intensely satisfying conclusion!

I love this series. I learned about Forbes as I read the two prior books so I was leary and interested to see how he was going to turn out in this book. I was pleasantly surprised. I enjoyed this love story very much as I did the two previous books...Stand in Groom and Menu for Romance. I highly recommend them all. I have not been disappointed yet by this author. I don't feel like I am reading a generic story. It has its own twist and turns which make you keep wanting more.

I just finished a charming book. Can a lawyer and his client fall in love and it not be a conflict of interests? Can said lawyer and client bring a suit against a company near and dear to the lawyer's heart? Can the client protect her professional image and rescue her family at the same time? Can two people learn to let go of the things they want to control and allow God's grace to work through all circumstances? Read A Case For Love to find out. Kaye Dacus created two endearing characters from strong families in this book. You will find yourself routing for Alaine Delacroix's family not to lose everything, while hoping Forbes' family retains unity and their integrity. Both goals are lofty and clearly at odds with each other. Travel with Alaine and Forbes as they learn to let go of their control and turn everything over to God. Within the pages fo this book love story and faith story merge. Beware: When you get to the last one hundred pages, you'll not want to put it down until the end.

I love this series. I really wish there was going to be a fourth book about Jenn. And then a fifth book that is about all 4 (Anne, Meredith, Forbes, and Jenn) and their happily ever afters. Anyway, this is about A Case for Love. I apologize for any spoilers, but there are some things I want to address that makes them necessary.I've been a fan of Forbes since book one. I don't really find him as much of a control freak as he's made out to be. I think he just thinks he knows what is best for his siblings and wants to help them do what is best to be happy. I guess I just wish my sibling cared that much about me. Forbes really becomes human in this book, though. Before he was so much of a secondary character that he just seemed perfect and like he had it all together. I like him even more now than I did before when I thought he was perfect.The only thing I don't understand is what happened with Forbes' parents and Evelyn Mackenzie's company. Where was the miscommunication or blame supposed to rest? I just didn't really feel clear on what happened. Also, since the Guidry's are doing Save the Mills now, what does that mean for Major's restaurant!?I really liked that Forbes and Alaine got together a good 30 or 40 pages from the end. I liked seeing them as a couple instead of only getting to see it within the last few pages. Too many books put it off until the very end, so I loved that they got together sooner rather than later!This is a great series well worth the read. I've already recommended it to a friend, and I actually don't do a lot of recommending to friends. Usually they're telling me what to read!

A CASE FOR LOVE was the first book I read by this author and found it different and new, but in a good way from the normal take on romance. Two thirty somethings, looking to settle down, while just happening to be the most eligible singles in their community. Forbes in a high end attorney for some of the best paying clients in his community and he grudgingly accepts the award of most eligible bachelor in his hometown. But after meeting Alaine (who also happens to be distinguished as the oldest single woman) at the award ceremony, that status is headed for a change.It wasnt your typical boy meets girl, fall in and out of love scenario, which made it fun to read. Alaine thinks she is falling for Forbes until an underhanded act is performed against her parents business- handed down from Forbes own parents. There was quite a bit of legal jargon in the book, which for me at least, was a bit of a challenge to understand. But I caught enough of it to understand and none of it lasted over long.The ending was great, I loved seeing them conquer issues they struggled with throughout the novel. Did they come together? Well youll just have to read the book to find out! The romance was warming and enjoyable and picturing the hero and heroine together in their scenes- was bliss. All in all A CASE FOR LOVE was an enjoyable romance, with a refreshing zest to the story.

In the mood for a light read? Pick up this book! Forbes is a handsome man who has giving up on dating, as a lawyer, he is busy and has not seemed to be able to find someone who is his match. Reporter Alaine Delacroix is in a similar position, when the two hit it off at a dinner party...they are happily optimistic, but things get dicey when their families are suing each other over land issues. As a lawyer, Forbes is stuck between the two. Will it mess up his career? His chance at love?A light happy book, somewhat cheesy at moments, but something that was enjoyable to read!

I loved both Stand-in Groom and Menu for Romance and was really looking forward to reading about Forbes who I absolutely love, in A Case for Love. I really enjoyed it! Kaye Dacus definitely has the knack when it comes to writing "real" characters. Forbes and Alaine, even though they are beautiful, successful people struggle with their faith, their families and their careers just as we do. The storyline is very interesting and I was pleasantly surprised at how interesting law could be, it helps that Forbes is a total hottie (sorry I just had to add that :-P) and would make a story about paint drying fun! The romance between Alaine and Forbes is so sweet, I love it! Kaye proves that single gals can write terrific romance! I will definitely be reading her next contemporary romance series, The Matchmakers, due out later this year!I received my influencer copy courtesy of the author and publisher.

The relationship that builds between Alaine and Forbes is full of strife. Can they survive among the discord between their families? An impeccably written story by a great storyteller. The plot moves smoothly from scene to scene with no slow parts to struggle through.

If you enjoy historical fiction, Kaye also has another wonderful series set in the early 1800s ~ the Ransome Trilogy. The first book in that series, Ransomes Honor is currently available and the second Ransomes Crossing ~ I loved the first book so much Ive already pre-ordered the second! Wonderful book! I have enjoyed every book in this series and can only say "please write more!" Forbes is probably my favorite hero among the three books, even though I love all three of the men. One can really tell that Kaye Dacus has done research into the workings of a law office and court; television reporting and the goings on behind the scenes of the running of the television station. The characters are so real and so much like friends that I would like to meet. I don't want to part with them! If you are looking for real people with real situations; some problems(not large hang-ups);beautiful spine-tingling-bring-a-smile-on-your-face-and-leave-it-there-for-the-next-two-days clean romance then this series is for you!

The characters had interesting occupations and the story was interesting. It was nice to see some of the characters from the first two books as well. I enjoyed this and wouldn't mind seeing more in this series.
