On the Preparation and Delivery of Sermons has been turned to by generations of preachers as an authoritative guide to the art of homiletics. It remains the most complete text on the subject, combining a full range of topics with a thorough discussion of homiletic principles and an abundance of practical rules and suggestions. The thirty-six chapters cover all aspects of the sermon-building task, including: the background of Christian preaching; the selection of text, subject, and title; classifications for sermons; the formal and functional elements; style, preparation, and delivery; the sermon in the context of public worship. Also included are guidelines for extemporaneous speaking and helpful notes and suggestions for further reading.

I have not finished reading this book yet, but so far so good. It takes you step by step and gives you some real good ideas. Allows you to realize the correlation of words and the impact they have on people when used properly. Cant wait to finish it.
