The book starts out "It's not about you" but the rest of the book is all about you. Our purpose is to "love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength" and "love your neighbor as yourself". The Bible is all about denying self not feeding our sinful, selfish nature. Luke 17:33 "Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it. This is not a Christian book in any way shape or form. It has all the appearance of Godliness but lacks the power thereof. Avoid anything to do with the Purpose Driven philosophy. It will lead to hell.

my son was going through a "life phase" and, after listening to a sermon, decided to embark on this 40 day journey in an attempt to find his life's purpose. i offered to accompany him on the journey just to support him in his decision. this has turned out to be one of the best decisions that i have ever made! this book is a must for anybody seriously searching for their life's purpose or meaning. but like they say, the proof of the pudding is in the eating; everybody should get and read this book!!!

I have heard of this book for years and never read it, but God has a plan for my plans. I got it at the correct time in my life and it is refocusing me back on Him. It is very insightful. I'm planning on getting copies for my children! The hardcover is great from my library collection, too. It is a must own book.

This book is helpful to different people for different reasons. The author explains how God has a purpose for each and every one of us. We have to pray that we fulfill that purpose. The part that was most beneficial for me was the detailed description of the methods that Satan uses to lead us astray. Boy, I wish I had that information many decades ago! Preachers should expound on Satan's temptation methods several times a year every year.
