This book fills the need for a single volume introduction to the complex theological and practical issues constellating around the concept of Christian mission. The text is divided into three parts: part one tends to foundational an methodogical questions; part two presents the seven major missiological themes; part three address the nature of the relationship between the organized church and the missio dei.

Customer Reviews for What Is Mission
Review 1 for What Is Mission
A well organized presentation
Date:April 20, 2012
I have just begun to read J. Andrew Kirk's What is Mission and have found it to be a fascinating presentation of an important subject. I have several sections marked for further study and am finding more to mark as I progress. Kirk covers a wide range of relevant issues for the mission practitioner and the beginning or advanced student of missions. I have found it to be a very rich resource for my study and will recommend it to others without reservation. I just wish I had found the book earlier in my study of missions.
