I am a 33 year old mother of 5 children. I received this book from my grandmother who won it as a door prize at a luncheon she was attending. Of course she gave it to me because she knows how I am always open to new ideas and I love to read, but what she didn't know is that I had recently prayed for a little help getting a handle on the new size of my family. (My youngest three children are 3 and under.) When she gave me this book, I thought, "Great another self-help book! But still I was compelled to read it out of respect for her. The title of this book and the cover make it appear so simple, and it is a quick and easy read, but it is so much more than a simple "self-help" book. This book is the single most helpful book I have ever read. It has had a profound impact on my family and me. This book is simply deep in a life-changing way when read with an open mind, taken to heart and put into action. I read it through once, then started back through while putting it into action. It also reminded me of simple instruction I have slightly forgotten throughout the daily grind. It is motivating and reassuring. For any mother who could use a little improvement in her life but not quite sure where to start, this book is a must-read.

Hmm. This is an interesting book. One I've enjoyed reading, but it isn't what you think it would be...or at least what I thought it would be. I was looking for a book with helpful hints of say, how to organize kid's clothes and toys, or suggesting making a monthly menu and pantry inventories. This is more a "why to be organized and let's talk about the benefits to being organized." I must say I never thought of child obedience as a way to be organized, but it makes sense. I think the author, in a plight to appeal to many, has written a very general book. It's geared toward all: single, married, working outside the home, public school, homeschool, etc. These are all very different family dynamics and it's hard to blanket everyone with the same organizational strategies, which I think the author realizes. I wish it went a little deeper into systems that might work, and a little less deep into areas that the author really isn't an expert on, ie: nutrition. I'd borrow before I bought, as I don't think it's one to re-read or pass along from mom to mom.

When I received this book I started to read it. Withn the first step it started helping me and encouraging me that I am doing the right thing for my family. Each step helps me to grow more and more closer to my goal to get my house and family in order to make our life easier. I would definitely recommend this book to others that are in the desire to have their home in some kind of order but have problems doing it themselves as I do. Thank You.
