Dr. Giesler is so knowledgeable in Bible Doctrine and Theology in general. His co-author, a former Muslim, gives a clear picture of Muslim belief and thinking. Christians need to understand what we're up against and how to deal with it.

Amazing to see that there are actually muslims posting stuff on this book review on christianbook.com. This is a great book, and it accompanies the website well. It has some well balanced facts and despite what people say, no one is truly objective so there will always be biases. I am just amazing at how people say they are "born Christian" or "raised Christian." Going to church doesn't make you a Christian, just like standing in a garage doesn't make you a car "vroom vroom." The western world needs to see religion is not ethnicity...

The book states facts about Islam. I don't hate Muslims, they can be saved too. I think Muslims are writing reviews on Christian literature so they can pretend they found Islam was better and then they converted. Facts are that Isiah 53 is the same as it was in 100bc. Muhammed used the torah to handle a dispute. The Koran says Jesus was holy, born of a virgin and that Allah would cause Isa ( Jesus) to be put to death and raised. This is noty said about any other prophet in the Koran. You say that the bible is corrupt. At what point was it corrupted. Did the corruptor collect all the bible from every home and library( switch words around) and then place them back without anyone knowing. If you're posting lies about christianity this site should cut your comment. After all this is christianbook.com not I refuse christianity so I converted.com

A great resource for understanding some of the fundamental differences between Christianity and Islam. Contrary to the emotional assertions of some reviewers, this book is not hate-filled propaganda. Christianity and Islam present two very different, often opposing messages that cannot both be right. Like any good Christian apologetics book, its aim is to foster understanding and, ultimately, to offer proof for the superiority of Christ and the Christian faith.

born christian am a muslim
The book is a propaganda toward Islam, it undermines it as a lesser religion. After a careful analysis of both religions I picked Islam (I was born a Christian). The reason I picked Islam is because it doesn't emphasizes false love, and feelings. It clarifies a lot of things in the Bible. I am a Muslim because it treats Adam the same as Jesus.(Adam didn't have a father or a mother). On top of that Christianity limits the power of God to become a human dying and as a holy spirit. And another thing how can the concept of trinity (THREE!!!) be a belief in one God? Father is an old guy, Jesus long hair young man, and holy spirit a blob of light, how can you see them as one. In contrast, Quran talks about the big bang "haven't we created you from the smallest of atoms then split you asunder," it talks about water cycle, how to maintain heart health, how to have manner. It tells us that from the beginning of time God sent his message through chosen human like Jesus, Adam, Muhammad, Noah, Moses, but in the end Muhammad says at his death bed "I am the seal of prophets and acknowledge work of Jesus, Moses and everyone and tells us that this book is the completion of faith, so we Muslims (I) believe in all the books, but Quran especially because it hasn't been changed down to the last punctuation up till now. while the other books discarded so many of gods word that it make it impossible for us to follow it.

Very comprehensive presentation of Islam. I thought I knew quite a bit about the major religions of the world since I studied them in school, follow the news and listen to Christian radio daily. However the book is filled with historical perspective, doctrine, and useful facts that other sources just skim over.

This book is the most insightful and comprehensive work on Islamic theology that I've ever read. The authors explain the truth about Islam and dispel the hype about Islam being a religion of peace, the Qu'ran being the final revelation from God, Muhammad being the seal of all prophets and Allah being the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. A must-read for anyone interested in understanding more about a religion that threatens the peace of the world. Once it is contrasted with Judeo-Christian theology the verdict is clear!

Geisler presents the differences in the Bible believing Christians and Koran believing Islams. The book tells of those beliefs generally held by Sunni and Shiite. Shiite believe the leadership flows from Muhammad to Mohammeds grandson etc.... The difference between fundamental Islam doctrines are not covered, because doctrinal differences with Christianity are the same. The first two hundred pages is a presentation the two faiths differences (Christian and Islam ). The rest of the book is the argument about the truth of Christianity. <BR>This book is not about the superiority of Western culture over MiddleEast Culture. I am pretty sure the author sees none. It is about the source of the two faiths. How the two faiths view God and each others theology. Can a man living on this earth have a relationship with God? Can God be three persons and yet be one God.? Christianity argues yes. Mohammed said no. How is Jehovah different from Allah?Geisler argues the God of the Old Testament is a much more caring God than the one described in the Koran. The Koran teaches that Allah was the God of Adam, Moses, and Abraham. But it also argues that the Old Testament has been corrupted through time. Islam clerics argue that the Koran has not. The point being the Koran argues for a different God and a different truth about Old Testament figures.

This is one of the best works from a Christian perspective on Islam. The authors do a marveolous job of presenting the history and teachings of Islam as compared with the Bible. If you are interested in studying what Muslims believe or reaching out to Muslims then you will find this book invaluable to your studies.
