I understand that these were not "fine Jewelry" but I didn't expect them to break so quickly. Having 3 daughters (ages 9,9,7) I bought one set of the Mother/daughter lockets and 2 individual lockets. Of the 4 lockets only mine is still wearable. My daughters each broke theirs within 2 days of Christmas and none of them were overly rough with them. Two of them broke at the hinges and one of the corded necklaces came apart from the clasp. They open in a strange way that puts a lot of stress on their soft hinges. Also, these are very small and won't hold anything at all. I would NOT recommend them at all. My daughters were very disappointed that their "special" necklaces were useless.

Just precious! I bought this and another small locket for my 2 girls (7&4) and they LOVE having matching necklaces. It gives them (and me) such a warn feeling knowing that we are all part of the same set even when we're not together. Also, they are inexpensive enough that when they get lost or broken, it won't be such a big deal.

My daughter's love the lockets! I even have one for my granddaughter. However, one of them doesn't like the cord so will be putting the locket on a different chain.
