I really enjoyed the book. Found the characters to be genuine and believable... Although at times it became a little bit predictable, but possibly in a good way.
Sometimes I find it good to read about how hard times fell on good people in an age much darker than the one we live in... it seems to make the troubles of today seem much more trivial and do-able.

This one didn't hold my attention very well. It was plodding at times, kind of depressing, and the ending was lacking.

I am enjoying the ebooks very much and wish there were more available. I love that I can make the print as big as I need and I am a huge fan of the christian oriented story lines.
I get the books delivered to my door or computer which is very important to me.

This book was good from the beginning. I found the content breath taking at times. Couldn't put it down. However, it ends abruptly without relsovling some of the issues with it's characters. I do not like books that end that way....just leaves you hanging. Other than the ending, the book was great.

This book was a true example of how God uses even the worst things in our lives to bring about His good will in our lives. Even though lust, greed, deception and cruelty were a part of the lives of the main characters, God also brought them goodness, friendship, kindness and love.

The story was well written, my heart was moved throughout the book. But it was sad till the end, your hopes for the creature in the story tuned out well

felt like the ending was rushed in the telling to get the book over with, a little cheesy too. only part of the story i liked was the wisdom from the lady of the house. not worth the time. not interested in the rest of the series. sorry

This book was slow reading and at times I was just board with it. It was mostly predictable, and I was disappointed in main character's lack of courage to share her innermost struggles with the man she loves.

The book was good overall and kept me entertained, however I was really disappointed with the ending. But we'll get back to that. Although the story was very good in regards to the characters' experiences and it was enlightening (if the author stayed true to how the prison system worked in those days...I wouldn't know), I felt the two main characters didn't interact enough to make them falling in love believable. I loved Hannah's struggle with her decisions though, and I felt the author did an excellent job depicting that. But the ending... I was like "What?! That's it?!" And, not in a good way. But again, maybe that's because I didn't get the feeling that the two main characters had much interaction, and therefore, to me the ending was weak. But check it out for yourself! :)
