Baker Authentic Relationships: Discover the Lost Art of One Anothering

In a culture that promotes isolation and autonomy, this book reveals life-changing methods for creating healthy relationships and authentic community. Readers learn to apply new Testament principles that capture the essence of Jesus' teachings about effectively caring, serving, and loving one another. Beginning with God's simple command to "love one another," this book shows you how to:
  • develop deep, genuine friendships
  • model to others a relationship with Jesus
  • create meaningful interaction with strangers
  • avoid the pitfalls of judging others
  • show people love, acceptance, kindness, and respect

Complete with discussion questions, this book is appropriate for both individuals and church groups. It is a must for all Christians who wish to practice being the church rather than merely attending one.

I found this book extremely useful in creating lesson plans for an extensive small group bible study series I put together. This book is helpful in exploring and explaining many aspects of what it means to be part of God's church. We ALL have gifts and abilities, yet most of us don't even realize what we can/should be doing to minister to others. Christ sets the perfect example for us in so many areas, but we often miss the point. It's all about love. The whole "one anothering" explanation is well described and explained in terms of how that effects me and how I can carry that out in everyday living.
