Enjoyed the film and then passed it along to a Granddaughter who I thought would also learn a lot about a very important figure in the world of faith and religion.

It is so worthwhile learning about Martin Luther's life and his efforts to reform the abuses of the Church during his time of history. I am grateful for his sacrifices and willingness to stand against the atrocities of his day.

For an old movie I wasn't sure how this would be, but I thought it was very good. I learned a lot, not knowing much about him. I will be wathcing this over again and sharing it with others.

I loved the movie. I have seen others that show more detail, but this was good. A true man of God.

This is my second purchase of this DVD. The first one was damaged. If this one were damaged or lost I would replace it too. Very good.

I have only read a little about Luther (and should find out more). This film relates his person and life work-his protest against, and for the reform of the Roman Catholic church of which he was a young priest, from their traditions, laws and heretical teachings and the Anglican Church of England, to that of the word of God (scripture and scripture alone) and the teachings of Paul. His protest became known to the world as the Protestant Reformation, which eventually took form, and began a new church, the Protestant Church. From this standpoint developed the thousands of "other" christian churches/denominations that we have today. This is a good film, especially for those who know little of him as I did. I think it does a good job of relating the depth of Luther's undeniable love for God and no doubt because so, his clearer understanding of it and Paul's teachings. I found this version, the oldest, to be most compelling, in that it shows his personal struggles, doubts, fears and ultimately his passion and great desire to bring the word of God to the "common people", the first translation into the German language which the catholic church (with their classical latin language) greatly resented. Many should know and appreciate that without Luther(and God's leading within him) we would not have the immense number of translated language versions for bibles that we have today.
