Baker The Complete Works of E. M. Bounds on Prayer
E.M. Bounds truly followed the charge to pray without ceasing. It was as normal and essential to him as breathing. But though he was in prayer constantly, it never became a chore to him. Throughout his life, whether he was ministering to troops during the Civil War or bringing God's Word to his congregation, E.M. Bounds relished his time in conversation with God.
Though only two of his books were published in his lifetime, The Complete Works of E.M. Bounds on Prayer combines all eight of Bounds's classic treatments of prayer. Join the generation of believers who have energized their prayer lives with the help of this godly man.

This is a wonderful and complete book on prayer.would recommend it to anyone who wanted to study prayer, how, why, and the importance to a person's life

However, it is not an easy read for me. Though the book is written in English, the style appears to be as the author may have spoke during the time it was written. It's going to take me longer to finish than I had anticipated. It's well organized and the price is great.

This is a great book to get inspiration for prayer. We sometimes encounter seasons when we feel indisposed to pray and I have found this book to be a great antidote. I turn to it at least twice every week and read a few chapters from it. I am actually considering having a copy bound in leather as I frequently use it. I doubt if there is anything in print today that approximates this book. Page after page will challenge you to get down on your knees and pray.
The only weakness I found with the book is that the author does not usually go deep in his theology. If you want a deep theological exposition of prayer, I suggest you look elsewhere. (Probably James Rosscup's 4 vols exposition of prayer. Though I haven't yet read them, the recommendations seem good).
But what Bounds lacks in depth, he compensates in inspiration. For many years he would wake up at 4am and pray till 7am, and when he speaks, you instinctively know that he knows what his talking about. You know that he wants to take you to a place where he himself has been. This is a book that one should read through at least once every year. I couldn't recommend it highly enough.
The other thing is the missing quotations at the beginning of every chapter. One wonders why the publishers left that out. Overall, that should not be such a big distraction.

This book is an excellent collection by E.M. Bounds on intercessary prayer. New believers and those wanting to improve their prayer life would benefit greatly by reading it.

This book puts all the works of prayer into one. Our church was going to purchase one of the books in this collection until we discovered that you could purchase the entire collection for just .70 cents more!

If you truly want indepth information on prayer then this is the book. Although I am not finished reading the book, E.M. Bounds has covered every area as it relates to prayer.

If prayer is an area of question in your life, maybe not as strong as you wish or can appreciate a point of reference then please order this book. I have 2 small old books that are priceless to me and have read several other books on this subject. By far this one gives you more than enough information to gain confidence and strength in your daily prayer life. When ordering this book of books at this price order two, I wish I had ordered ten because friends would appreciate a fine gift as this and people will be put on your heart as you read these words. We need more mighty men of prayer, God Bless!

This volume by E.M. Bounds on prayer is so great that you could have a memorable quote every sentence. Many Christians tragically do not know about E.M. Bounds or this book. Struggling in prayer? Or, maybe don't think prayer is that important? Read this, and praise God for giving us a man to teach us. Highly recommended!

E.M. Bounds is one of the greatest writers on the subject of prayer, he falls into that catigory along with others like Andrew Murry, Bounds' books are rich in learning the depth and value of a deep prayer life, anyone that feels led into any kind of deeper than a superficial christian life should read just one or two of his small books, if you read one of them you will be hooked for the plyableness and current day insight given to this man over a century ago, you would think he wrote it yesterday. If you fall into the catigory of Charasmatic-Full Gospel- Pentecostal, Bounds' books will be especially of value to you as you will feel compelled to initiate a deeper prayer life straightway after becoming familiar with the depth of his writing. Enjoy and be blessed in the Lord

That book is likely to be the best book (collection of 8 books) on prayer. E.M. Bounds was a great man of faith around during the civil war and understood what it really takes to have a true relationship with God. If you want to love God and get answers to prayer, then this book is for you. Enjoy a true relationship with your heavenly father by applying what E.M. Bounds puts forth in this collection of writings. Also, try to find a wasted sentence in this book ... This man is VERY deliberate with his language. A true scholar with the written word.

I Am working on strenghting my prayer life and this was a great book to help with that. I like how it's laid out not a hard read and one other thing is you can skip around to different book since it's 8 in one. I would recommend it highly, God Bless.

Let Down
I might be a little nit picky here but I think I have to be. I wanted a full volume of all 8 books and this was great, however; not having the quotations to start each chapter has severely limited my excitement. I have already hilighted areas in the book so I cannot return it but I may think of selling it in the hopes of seeing the quotes to get my mind thinking on what the chapter is going to be about.
