I have been searching for the perfect homeschool curriculum for the last couple of years. This one is workbook based. My son loves it and does not mind doing the writing involved. I think however if you as a parent enjoy teaching and digging deeper this curriculum allows the freedom to do that. If you are the type of parent that uses alot of self teaching type methods I can see how it would not be enough alone. My son was having problems with repetition and going over the same thing several times was very hard to keep him focus. I like this because used with other things it gives you the freedom to focus on problem areas.
