Random House, Inc Bad Girls of the Bible, Book & Workbook

Jezebel . . . Lot's wife . . . Delilah. Oh, those bad girls! What's a good girl to do? Learn from their mistakes. I am an avid reader of this series; Ms. Higgs is a magnificent writer and preacher of His holy word. Her insight into the failings of certain female figures of the bible is very revealing--as a male reader, it helps to have the insight of a woman into the minds of these horrible women. However, if one really wants to discuss how to learn from "Eve's disastrous disobedience", one should simply imagine being stoned to death before disobeying her husband. That's what would have happened to Eve, if her husband didn't happen to be the only other person on earth at the time.... unfortunately for you, ladies, there is little value in studying these writings from the point of view you take-- I would suggest the Robert Alter translation of Genesis and the Richmond Lattimore translation of The New Testament. These translations are done straight from the original Hebrew redactions and Greek Codex with no purpose other than accurate translation, rather than pushed through the agenda-heavy cheese grater of Good ol King James or the simplicity of the "new" translations made for easy reading. Think for yourself! Read what interests you! Temptation is not the devil, it's your body and/or mind telling you that something might be of interest! Use your own brain to determine whether or not it will benefit you; live a "good" life on your own terms! You don't learn a single thing if you simply repeat after your pastor and do what you are told. You MUST discover these things for yourself.

Remarkable Liz Higgs is to be able to read one minute about today's women and parallal it to the bibical woman. Eays to understand yet deep into God's word. Prais God for this writer.Amen
