Baker Sacred Listening

For five centuries, Ignatius Loyola's Spiritual Exercises have been leading Christians to deeper faith. Now, Wakefield brings the richness of this enduring text to contemporary Protestants. Sacred Listening adapts Ignatius' original month-long spiritual retreat into a guide that allows you to weave prayer and contemplation of Scripture into your daily schedule. As you pray, write in a journal, study Scripture, and share your experiences, you'll discover Christ in new ways and be transformed by the power of a time-honored tradition that continues to speak to us today.

As someone from a protestant background taking Ignation exercises, I found this book a clear and very helpful guide. It has lots of examples of how the journaling is to be done and how to be mindful of our feelings and of Christ in each situation throughout the day. Many years of experience has brought us this thoughtful book on the exercises. This book helps bring the Ignation tradition to people who have had no background or teaching in this area.
Thank you Mr Wakefield!
