Review 1 for The Minor Prophets, 2 Volumes

When I am about to teach a class at church, I will read various commentaries dealing with the particular book I am about to teach on. I love becoming well acquainted with the times, the people, and the customs of that era. Most importantly however, I long to hear the heart of God in regards to the relevance of the book itself. Reading the works of various commentators provides me with the different perspectives I might otherwise have missed on my own. Keep in mind, I hold tightly to the Truth of God's Word, first and foremost... but I have valued greatly from the works other scholars have willingly shared through their own study themselves. In my last study, I read Boice's commentaries on the minor prophets, along with the works of other commentators, (Ironside, Wiersbe, McGee, etc.) and I enjoyed Boice's work very much. Each commentator has a slightly different view, but again, that's what I enjoy so much. You will not be disappointed with Boice's books, but rather come away with a greater understanding and appreciation as to the purpose of the minor prophets.

I used this commentary for MALACHI,and as always found Boice thorough, pastoral, and helpful. A great resource. I will look forward to using these volumes for future study of the other Minor Writing Prophets.
