Customer Reviews for HarperOne Answering God

HarperOne Answering God

Eugene H. Peterson speaks to Christians who realize the necessity for prayer and yearn for it but who find their prayer unconvincing and unsatisfying. Addressing the causes of this dissatisfaction, Answering God offers guidelines for using the Psalms as dynamic tools for prayer. This book is recommended for Christians of any level, probably most useful for more mature Christians.

Praying in the manner Dr. Peterson suggests makes the call to "pray without ceasing" a much more attainable goal than I had previously thought. This book makes it feasible to tie prayer to every aspect of life.

This book opens the Psalms as tools for prayer in a unique and important way. While we often recite or hear a psalm in worship services, I had never thought of using the psalms as the prayers in my private devotions until I read Peterson's excellent analysis. This is a book worth reading and sharing with special friends.
