These unforgettable stories of entwined lives, passion, faithfulness, heartache, and redemption parallel the biblical accounts of Jacob, Esau, Rachel, and Leah. Approx. 460 pages each, two softcovers from Waterbrook.

I have read the first two books and can't wait to read the third. I'm at a bad stop though, because I can't decide which sister I like better. I mean Rose is so there for Jamie but her sister really loves him. And what about the kid? And poor Jamie trying to love one woman and then having to love another one. It's got me on the edge of my seat. I can't put them down. GREAT BOOKS!

Arrrggghh! What is going on? Just when I thought Leana was going to have her hearts desire, Rose is there, ready and too willing, to take Jamie as her husband (again) due to after some clerical error legalizing his marriage to Leana. My heart goes out to Leana. What a book! I am so caught up in this whirlwind that I can't wait to see what happens next.

After reading Thorn in My Heart, I couldn't wait to read the next installment, Fair is the Rose. Liz Curtis Higgs has a talent for character development. Although the story line is a very familiar one straight from the Bible--between Jacob and Esau--she demonstrates God's ability to restore, renew and rebuild relationships; that even in the midst of physical and emotional struggles, we can receive and ask for blessings.
