Christiano Film Group Bamboo in Winter, DVD

She was just back from the university. With memories of Tiananmen Square still fresh in her mind, she now faced a new kind of revolution. A revolution of the soul. The Preacher has come to the village, bringing the Bible's life-changing message. As she listens, she is edged closer to an eternal decision. But in this atheistic communist society, the consequences of such a decision can be devastating. Based on actual events now happening to the suffering house church in China, this thrilling 58-minute drama will move viewers into a new sense of the power of faith in the face of oppression. This DVD includes English, Spanish, Mandarin, German, and Portuguese languages.

I am an inter-denominational missionary and have spent 20 years showing Christian films in an open air ministry in small villages and for the last 2 years have been working in the Philippines. I have a library of over 200 films that I use and this particular film is one of the 2 or 3 most powerful evangelical messages that I use, both in Mexico and here in the islands. It presents a realistic view of the worldwide persecution that many of our brothers and sisters face each day and reminds us that we have an obligation to pray for them.

I thought this was a good movie, very realistic. My Sunday School curriculum recommended it for 2nd and 3rd graders, however I thought it was a bit too violent for that age group. Children should be a bit older.

I first saw the whole movie on Godtube and I was really disappointed. If your looking for a movie with people killed for their faith, look no further. Still the acting of the main character is good though.

Bamboo In Winter is a must see movie for every church going person. This movie shows people who are accepting Jesus as their Savior and living as a True Believer every day of their individual lives. These people are laying their faith on the line everyday, facing persecution, standing by their faith in God and the Lord Jesus. When we watch this movie we should be asking ourselves some important questions. 1.Does my faith show in my life?2. Do I hunger for God's Word? Is His Word food for my soul?3.Do I stand up for God?4.If someone challenged my faith in God, Jesus and His Word would I have anything to say?
