I haven't read a Frank Peretti book since middle school, and that was before I was a Christian; it was _This Present Darkness_ that first intrigued me. Four years later, I became a Christian. Two years later, I rediscovered my interest in Peretti's work, having this book recommended to me in addition to his other works.

I must admit that I was not afraid or tense because of the books twists and turns, but that I was anxious to see the characters within the story ultimately solve the mystery.

Though God's hand is not explicitly mentioned as an intimate part of the storyline, I believe that the story shows that God is in control and utilizes all circumstances, whether we know and acknowledge it or not.

Solid read. Solid author.

I grow tired of the sci-fi and fantasy genres being lumped together, being a lover of fiction written to reflect scientific theory. This book brings science theory to the front, between explaining how such a creature could (theoretically) exist, and creationist theory & how it is and can be proven using current knowledge & research.

I also enjoyed the humor of how Peretti wrote himself into the book. Can you guess which character is Peretti?

It has mystery, suspense, drama etc. A "can't put it down" book with a Christian moral woven into the whole story. What a wonderful way to express the real truths of life.

Frank Peretti has a real way of keeping you totally engrossed in the storyline of his books. Monster kept me on the edge of my seat and I could not wait to turn the next page. I again, as with all of his books, could hardly put the book down until I was finished. Please keep writing Mr. Peretti, can't wait for more suspense and intrigue!!!

Frank Peretti has a knack of keeping the reader entrenched in this story. It was a rather quick read though.
