My family really enjoys this game. An excellent way to learn where all the countries in Europe are.

We tried to enjoy this game. It was very slow and did not flow smoothly. It seemed we always needed a wild to make the game continue. We finally quit because it was too painful to continue.

This game works very well for teaching and learning geography, though the instructions might need to be tweaked a tad for clarity. What is confusing about it, at first glance, is the cards display the country or body of water on both sides, though one side gives detailed information about which countries or bodies of water touch it. The players need to remember to conceal the detailed sides in their hands from the other players. This feature of the cards is excellent because it allows the players to internalize bordering countries, and it also allows them to strategize their plays to their opponents' disadvantage...if they observe the back sides of the cards in the opponents' hands.
A critical element to this game is bluffing. My highly-principled nine-year-old could not bring himself to "lie", and he was indignant when he discovered that my "integrity" was less than impeccable as he realized that I had implemented the bluffing strategy. When he was able to dry his tears and recover from his disillusionment in my "moral failure", I was able to explain to him that bluffing is different from lying because bluffing tests the opponent's knowledge of geography. A player who is not that familiar with geography will not catch a bluff, and bluffs can become trickier the more familiar players become with the geography. Additionally, you'll end up with a hand full of cards that are hard to play if you don't bluff. And you'll lose. If you catch your opponents' bluffs because you know your geography, you will win!
The game says that it is for two or more players, but I think you need more than two for optimal play.
The directions are adequate, but they could be better if they gave a brief overview of what a turn consists of, how bluffing is implemented, and how to win. The directions that come with the game say all of this, just not very clearly. After playing it a couple of times, you'll understand it better, and rather than worrying about execution of the game, you'll be able to focus on geography. Even so, it's worth the purchase. I definitely recommend it.

This is an interesting way to learn geography and easy enough to play even for younger kids.
