Word Entertainment Inc Son of Lassie, DVD
Joe Carraclough has grown into adulthood as a World War II RAF airman. And Lassie's son Laddie is so devoted to him that he secretly stows away on the plane when Joe leaves on a bombind run. When the plane is shot out of the sky over enemy-occupied Norway, Joe and Laddie parachute from the burning aircraft and begin their wartime adventures in this lively sequel. Closed captioned. Rated G. Approx. 120 minutes.

We loved the original Lassie Come Home version of this movie and it was also a PG as "would be" thieves kill a dog friend of Lassie's. In this sequel, however, Nazi soldiers murder a friend of the hero at point blank range - shocking for any not desensitized to violence. Also, the hero beats a couple of Nazi's to death with a rock. Not your John Wayne 'fire an improbable shot at the bad guy who in turn falls dramatically off his horse'. This movie requires parental guidance.

This is an excellent film. An excellent story. Technically, the colour and overall quality for a film of this age (1940s) is impressive.

THIS FINE FILM IS WONDERFUL. A REAL TEAR JERKER THAT TUGS AT THE HEART STRINGS. WELL WORTH THE PURCHASE PRICE, AND THE SCENERY IS EXQUISITE IN EVERY ASPECT. EXCELLENT ACTING BY THE CAST, WHO MADE THE FILM COME ALIVE SO MUCH. THE DOGS WERE FANTASTIC IN THIS FILM. SUPERB TRAINING WAS REALLY INSTITUTED HERE. MY INTEREST WAS VERY HIGH.
