I LOVE this series!! The writing is just so powerful, and i can imagine everything that is happening so vivdly. I love the fact that it is 3 or 4 stories wound into one, and the auther just handles it so beautifully. My favourite story-line has to be Michael and Susanna's. I also LOVE the thing wih Frank and Mary, and Paul and Nell Grace. SO cute!! And i love the nashinalities that B.J choose; Irish, Scottish and Italin being the main ones. I would reccomend it to anyone.

I first read American Anthemn when it was a series of three individual books. All of the stories and they were wonderful. I can't tell you all of the details because it was a long time ago that I read them, but I remember finishing the first book - Prelude - and desperately wanting to read the next book - Cadence, then I finished that and I wanted badly to read the final book in the series - Jubilee. I don't normally feel that eager about reading a series so that was amazing! Each set of characters had their own struggles. From the blind musician who lost his wife and was left with a young daughter, to the Scottish physician who suffered from arthritis, and last the Irish-born Susanna, whose story is heart-breaking yet beautiful. I highly recommend this series.
