In nine fleeting months, the Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 100th birthday. So when Pastor Forbes dies unexpectedly, everybody's frantic to replace him in time. Deacon Cleavon Johnson presents a series of questionable candidates, and soon it's a free-for-all with members plotting and conniving to get the best man in the pulpit. A deliciously humorous slice of African-American church life! 336 pages, softcover from Walk Worthy.

About as close to being sexually graphic without being gutter. didn't very bring a since of christian values in faith. If I haven't brought it some a christian web site, it would have been just another secular book about our people in an unlifting light. It did give a picture of what we sometime go through in the church, but it takes it to far.
