I've only read one other book by John Wimbur. I'm really finding his writing knowledgeable and Scripturally based. He bases his teaching on John 5: 19, Jesus only does what He sees the Father doing - a great faith builder for those who pray for healing.

John Wimber has really covered, the whole aspect of praying for people to be healed in our world today. The first 2/3 of the book describe his journey in coming to understand that healing is for today. The last few chapters describe in detail his model for doing healing ministry. I have referenced his model often in teaching the concepts in my home church. It's to bad John is gone. He was a great man...

This is a very practical book where John Wimber discusses how he came to believe that healing is for today. He writes about healing the whole person, which includes one's spirit, past hurts, the demonization, and the physical body. He provides insight into the principles, values, and practices that he used, which are still applicable today. He also provides a five-step model that can help us pray effectively for healing. I've used this book in several small groups to help people learn to pray effectively for healing. It has always been a valuable resource.
