bellgamin5 Stars Out Of 5Super superb superiorSeptember 27, 2018bellgaminQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This is THE best wide margin reference Bible I have ever found. The paper is very opaque (no read-through) and white enough so the print stands out but is still easy on the eyes. When it comes to writing marginal notes, the paper is simply perfect -- absolutely no bleed through, & tough enough to handle write/erase/write/erase several times. (I use an automatic pencil with 3B soft lead so it's dark but easily erasable.) This Bible's print is large and really black -- nice & dark. The red print is actually *red* and not the faded pink you get in many Bibles. This Bible uses verse by verse format so that also adds to avaiable writing space as well as enhancing readability & look-up's. References are at end of each verse -- not extensive, but usually sufficient unless doing a topical study or a word study. It's a good compromise because using center column or marginal references subtracts from writing space. This Bible's concordance is okay for "casual" look-up's while reading. If I'm doing a more in-depth study, I keep my Strong's Concordance handy. This Bible is a tad heavy but still portable. For maximum portability, you might want to buy a Bible cover. If so, measure carefully -- this Bible is a tad bigger than "standard size". Oh... by the way, I recommend purse style Bible covers ONLY. Why? Because in that type of cover, the Bible rests on its spine when carried and that method keeps a larger-size Bible "healthy & happy." With normal care this Bible should last so long that it becomes a family heirloom -- it's sewn, not glued, PLUS Hendrickson's quality is famously great among Bible collectors (I'm 1 of those). I heartily recommend this Bible!

The text is large and easy to read, and in a clean, crisp, lovely font. The large margins all around the text make this an ideal version for note taking. I ordered the genuine leather and it is soft, supple and beautiful. Spend a little extra and order the genuine leather instead of the bonded leather; it is well worth the extra dollars, and you'll be using this bible for years and years. I couldn't be happier that Hendrickson came out with this awesome bible. For the features I needed, this is the best bible available today. I thank God for my new bible.

36x48photoBirmingham, ALAge: 45-54Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5HENDRICKSON PUBLISHERS AT IT'S BEST!!!!April 27, 201336x48photoBirmingham, ALAge: 45-54Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for KJV Large Print Wide Margin Bible - Genuine Leather Black. If you like taking notes in your Bible, and if you desire a GREAT BIBLE along with that, this is the Bible for you. This is a Great Bible. I purchased the (2008) edition in December of 2008 for a Christmas gift to myself, and it was taken from me, after only having it for some 6 months and I loved that Bible. But this (2013) edition is even better, and really its more than I even expected. This edition is Red Letter, and the Bible paper is great. This edition is also available in Genuine Leather and I love that. I will purchase another in the next few weeks. If there was something, I would add to this Bible for the next edition, it would be: (1) adding 2 ribbon markers for study in both the Old & New Testaments, (2) adding 3 ribbon markers with the Apocrypha between the Old & New Testaments! Now that we are in the 21st Century, you would think that 2 ribbon markers in a Bible would be standard. I salute Hendrickson Publishers for producing a masterpiece!!!!!

ValerieRJ5 Stars Out Of 5Highly suitable for journalingJanuary 15, 2016ValerieRJQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for KJV Large Print Wide Margin Bible -Hardcover.I chose this Bible because I was looking for a large print journaling Bible. Rather than placing the wide margin on one side of the page (the outside), I liked that it put the margin all the way around each page of scripture, allowing me to create borders if I so desired.
The point size of the font is very readable. Also, the pages feel more durable than a standard Bible. I was also looking for a larger Bible. Most journaling Bibles are small, which would have been fine if my eyesight were better.
I also like that they put the cross-reference scriptures at the end of each verse rather than in the margin. I love finding scripture in that manner, and I notice it is faster and easier than looking for the tiny letter that indicates where to find the scripture in the margin.
There is a concordance in the back. It isn't very extensive, but it is readable and I have other concordances and that isn't why I bought this, so it doesn't bother me.
Although this isn't marketed as a journaling or note-taking Bible, it works very well as one. -
MtymouzLA, CAAge: 45-54Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Great note takers BibleNovember 26, 2013MtymouzLA, CAAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This review was written for KJV Large Print Wide Margin Bible - Genuine Leather Black.I have had this Bible for several months. I write in it nearly every day and love the space I have for making references and notes. The font is not giant but it is large enough to read comfortably. It is larger and heavier than the Bible I use in church so it is used primarily for home study. It has good quality pages for writing on and I recommend the genuine leather binding. I like the references that Hendrickson uses and am glad to see them with a large margin Bible. The only things I could complain about would be that when I erase a note or errant underline it also starts erasing the nearby words :-P and I agree with the other reviewer it needs two or three ribbons for page markers as I am frequently all over my Bible during study time.
