I love this genre of reading. What I like most is the absence of swearing and sex. I also like the fact that he writes from a Biblical worldview. Having an author who isn't afraid to mix real life in with his tight plot development.
I've just finished reading both these books and couldn't put them down, just wonderful! This second one was even better than the first which I didn't think was possible. I can't wait to get my hands on the third one. As a christian with a son in the military and a retired RN, these stories are very relevent to me but I feel they would be a good read to almost anyone. Great characters. I would love to meet Shel and Max. I've read other of Mr. Odum's books and all are very readable. You just can't get better fiction. Looking forword to many more in this series.
After reading "Paid in Blood" I didn't think Mel Odom could get any better, but this story is even more interesting. I definitely couldn't put this one down. Really entertaining read, can't wait until the next one comes out. I highly recommend both books in this series. Lots of action.
Great read! I love the fast paced format and frequent chapter breaks. For a working mom that's a big plus. Great story and it was wondeful to see some of the characters from the first book develop further and mature. I would like to see the author do more with Remy and Shel for sure. They are way too mysterious for me! I highly recommend the book!
Violent gang members, dead bodies, dangerous relationships, dirty politics, luminol, assault rifles and a serial killer all feature in Blood Evidence, the second installment of Mel Odom's NCIS trilogy.Commander Will Coburn is the lead investigator into the kidnapping of a young girl which plunges Will's specialist NCIS team into seventeen year old mystery of the murder of Commander Laura Ivers daughter and the contemporaneous disappearance of USMC Gunnery Sergeant George Haskins. As the investigation unfolds, the team's medical examiner Dr Nita Tomlinson is battling her own inner demons, questioning her commitment to marriage and motherhood as her inadequacies begin to overwhelm her. Seeking refuge in her work, Nita makes some poor choices that may destroy not only her family and career but her very soul.Mel Odom has again excelled, writing a novel that is replete with action, intrigue and fabulous character development. The meticulous details of a forensic investigation including autopsy descriptions, criminal profiling and ballistics information is smoothly integrated into the story, providing great interest without becoming overwhelming. There is enough military jargon and explanations of modern weaponry to keep any man enthralled and the relational threads, from Will's struggles as a single parent to Nita's marital issues, are just as expertly handled and will resonate with both male and female readers.Mel's story held me captivate for the entire 435 pages and I eagerly anticipate the final instalment in this absorbing series to interact more with Will, Shel, Estrella, Remy, Maggie and Nita
This book is totally awesome, I am really hoping that these become a series with many more books to follow. The characters feel so real, and I feel a connection to all of them. It is worth every penny and then some.
