Talk about an action packed book! I cannot believe how well written each and every plot line in this story was written, executed, and wrapped up. The story is excellently written and focuses on revenge. There are some pretty violent crimes depicted in this book, but as usual, Margaret handled them in a tasteful way.

I absolutely enjoyed Rebecca from the beginning of the story. She is a strong woman, and faces adversity with very real emotions and feelings. Her faith is part of her life and she makes it known, as well as her stance and strong sense of justice. Brody is the type of swoon-worthy Texas Ranger I've come to recognize in Margaret's books. I loved him and his feeling of overwhelming protectiveness toward Rebecca and her family. His sense of loyalty and justice was another great asset. Their romance was well-developed and their feelings were tangled and untangled very well.

The overall theme of the story was revenge. The villian in this story felt that they had been wronged. Instead of practicing forgiveness and letting God handle the punishment, they let their anger turn into bitterness and ultimately focus on revenge. Rebecca states the message the author is portraying quite well when she says, "I can't always control what happens to me, but I can control how I react." As a Christian, we are called to forgive, as we have been forgiven. That isn't always easy. If we don't forgive, our anger can turn into bitterness and a sense of revenge can overtake us and cause more harm.

Overall, this was a fast-paced, edge of your seat, keep you guessing until the very end suspenseful romance. I highly recommend it!

This is the third book in Margaret Daleys The Men of the Texas Rangers Series and all three are excellent. If you like stories containing Texas Rangers, I highly recommend this series. If you like great action packed mysteries mixed with a little romance, then this is a series for you. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the 4th and final book. FYI, though the books are labeled as a series, they easily stand alone and have had no characters overlap from book to book. So far, each book has had its own distinct characters and story lines.

Just finished reading Scorned Justice, Margaret Daley's book. This was an exciting story, what Texas Rangers go through to find the murders, smugglers, etc. The ending surprised me totally. Would never have guessed who the guilty ones were; took a lot of time to locate them. The ending so surprised me. Would never have guessed who one of the main guilty persons was. I usually think I figured out who did it, but was way off on this ending. The only thing I don't like, but has to be part of a story is when one of the main characters is kidnapped or going to be hurt, yet they are saved out of it just in time. I have to remember that. Margaret Daley keeps you on the edge all throughout the story. So many adventures are in this story. Loved it, and I know you all will too. She is truly a gifted writer.

Margaret Daley in her new book, "Scorned Justice" Book Three in The Men of the Texas Rangers Series published by Abingdon Press gives us a contemporary adventure with The Texas Rangers.

From the back cover: Can love survive when everything else is blown apart?

When Texas Ranger Brody Calhoun is called to investigate an attack that has injured the brother of Brody's high school sweetheart, Rebecca Morgan, he thinks it's an open-and-shut case. But as Brody digs deeper, he realizes the attack may be related to an organized crime trial Rebecca will be overseeing. With Rebecca's help, he compiles evidence of cattle rustling, bribery, and dirty payoffs which shatter their entire community and puts Rebecca directly in the line of fire.

Brody expects to protect Rebecca. But he never expects to fall for her all over again, or for a murder to throw the case wide open. Is Brody's faith strong enough to withstand not only deep-rooted corruption and cattle rustling but also love?

I like stories that involve The Texas Rangers. It does not matter to me what time period the story takes place in just so that it involves them. There is a certain personality to this group that captures my attention. Let me say this right off, Margaret Daley does not disappoint! I also think that "Scorned Justice" is her best work yet. Ms. Daley knows how to ratchet up the tension so that your nerves are strung tight as you work with Brody and Rebecca to break the organized crime ring that has had a death on their community. "Scorned Justice" is a thriller as the characters are in deadly danger practically from page one. "Scorned Justice is filled with intrigue, deceit, mystery, and deadly killers. On top of everything Ms. Daley manages to weave a romance into this story that just captivates you. She makes you care for all the characters and their journey. This is also just plain fun and exciting as well. Don't start this book late at night because it will cost you sleep. I look forward to the next book in the series.

    Loved This Romantic Suspense!

Of the available books in this series, Scorned Justice is my favorite ... by far! Margaret delivers an incredible story that is filled with a number of crimes, interesting characters, and amazing romance! The beginning of the book was intense ... Rebecca's brother is missing and when they find him he is nearly dead. The book never really slowed down from there. With all of the various crimes going on, at times I wasn't sure things were going to come together. By the end of the book, though, I was impressed with how Margaret brought things together, revealed clues along the way, provided plenty of twists, and finally solved the crimes for us readers! I confess that while I suspected several times that I had figured everything out, but I was SHOCKED by the ending.

Besides the suspense (which was awesome!), the romance was just perfect. I mean, perfect. I just loved Brody and Rebecca and desperately wanted them to get past their junk and fall in love already! There were several other characters that really helped flesh out the novel into a more well-rounded story, and I thoroughly enjoyed the roles that Sean and Hattie played.

Overall this was an incredible story! I highly recommend Scorned Justice to anyone who loves a solid romantic suspense novel! [5 stars]

I received a free copy of this book from Abingdon Press and CFBA in exchange for my fair and honest review.
