Briefly covering the most significant points:
- Don Piper contradicts himself, showing his dishonesty. He clearly says at 13:22 of the attached video that he saw God. However, in page 30 of his book, Don Piper clearly says "I did not see God".
- There is a litany of issues with what Don Piper describes of what he saw in heaven - mansions and such.
- Don Piper gives a very detailed account of what he saw in heaven. Now, only 3 men in the New Testament were allowed a glimpse of heaven. (1) Right before he was stoned, Stephen said (Acts 7:56) "Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God." That is either all he saw or all he described of what he saw. That's it. (2) John – who wrote Revelations. (3) Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:2-4. Paul, "whether in the body or out of the body", he did not know, was "caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter."
These are the only 3 accounts. Now Paul, who roughly wrote a third of the New Testament, was not allowed to tell us what he saw in heaven. Even with that inability to tell us, he was given a "thorn in the flesh" in 2 Corinthians 12:7, so that he would not become prideful - "And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me". Paul wasn't even allowed to say, and even then we was given a thorn in the flesh to prevent pride. How then is it that Don Piper is allowed to give us such a detailed account?
Don’t waste your time with this book. You are much better off looking at something like “Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis.

I borrowed this book initially from a friend of mine who had ust lost her mother. She really enjoyed reading it, and I was surprised ather asking me to read it, as she normally is sceptical about spiritual matters. I read it out lod to my husband on a road trip, as I knew it was something I would want to share with him. I had to pause a few times to compose myself as it is such a special glimpse into the prescence of Heaven! I too have lsot loved ones too soon, and it brought me great comfort to know the complete peace and joy they now know! I bought the full length edition as well as the gift edition and have read both. I think the gift edition is more appropriate for those whom have lost a loved one. The full length more for those who are interested in the process of healing, God's presence in times of pain and suffering, and hope for what seems like a hopeless situation, even after a great miracle. It is the man's account with no apologies. I recommend it and I will be giving them as gifts.

Warning-this is only essentially chapter one of the book, "90 Minutes in Heaven." I was a little taken aback when I discovered that after I got it. They took the heaven chapter (left out the recovery from the accident chapters) and put small amounts of text on the page to make it a gift book. Frankly, it is a great idea, I just think it is a little less than obvious from the way it is titled.

I love this book and this was the 4th copy I had bought for a loved one. It was the first Gift Edition I bought and I immediately went out and bought the full version for my brother. I felt that the abridged version was not good enough to be given as a gift. The gift version is now in a drawer and I will be more careful in the future. It is my opinion that a "Gift Version" should be the BEST not an immitation of the original.

If you read this book, please get the follow-up book, "Heaven is Real". Then, you will understand WHY Don was sent back. It is a very touching description of his (and family) struggle to regain a "new normal". It helps you understand why there are struggles in life, why we must go through them and, most importantly, what is on the other side.

This is the short version of the book. It was a nice selection from the bigger version of the book, and a good book to share with others.

I've given this "Gift Edition" to many people--both Christians and non-Christians--who've lost someone dear and also to those struggling with their fears about death. "90 Minutes In Heaven" has been a TREMENDOUS tool of comfort, setting people free from fear, releasing JOY in Jesus' promise of Heaven, & also a compelling, truthful witnessing tool.

This book is factual and for me was revealing of what I might expect of seeing in heaven. The Bible reveals some of what we as believers can expect and this story reveals what one man experienced. Great reading. Enjoy.

My mother went to HEAVEN on December 11, 2007. I miss her more than I could have imagined, but reading this book is such a comfort! I knew where she was going and I know with all my heart that she is with Jesus and my Dad, her parents, etc....but I read this gift book whenever I get too sad. I believe God is using Don Piper for HIS GLORY and I know this account of Heaven will be a blessing to all who read it.
