Harvest House Publishers A Woman Rides the Beast

Virtually all attention these days is focused on the coming Antichrist --- but he is only half the story. Many are amazed to discover in Revelation 17 that there is also another mysterious character at the heart of prophecy - a woman who rides the beast. Who is this woman? Tradition says she is connected with the church of Rome. But isn't such a view outdated? After all, today's Vatican is eager to join hands with Protestants worldwide. "The Catholic Church has changed," is what we hear. Or has it? In "A Woman Rides The Beast", prophecy expert Dave Hunt sifts through biblical truth and global events to present a well-defined portrait of the woman and her powerful place in the Antichrist's future empire. Eight remarkable clues in Revelation 17 and 18 prove the woman's identity beyond any reasonable doubt.

I was astounded to read the history of the Roman Catholic Church and the violence she has committed against the Jews and others throughout the centuries. Helping Nazi war criminals was particularly disgusting. Judgment Day will reveal the penalty for these horrific events.

Great book. I live in a country mostly catholic, and it makes me sad that people are so deeply cheated by their religion. Religions don't save, only Jesus does, if people throw down their mental fortresses and ask God to show them the truth, this book will open many hearts for the true and only gospel of redemption by the death and resurrection of the son of God. I pray for Catholics to believe the bible and not the mandates of men, that are wicked as we all are, that is why we all need Jesus as a savior.

Shocking and provocative. I never knew the history of the Catholic church or how much corruption has influenced it.

I found that the book was very factual and well documented with Roman Catholic resources as the basis. Dave Hunt understands fully the threat upon the Reformed faith and exposes the heresies perpetrated by the Roman Cathlic Church through the centuries. Those who claim the author does not know the RC view failed to see the numerous foot notes and bibliography of the this work. This opened my mind and was instrumental in helping me leave the Roman Catholic Church. The resources alone are worth purchasing A Woman Rides the Beast.

I've read the book a couple times, plus reviewed the movie. Coming from the RC background, I can see and fully understand how very true this is. As I watch what's happening today with the RC church wanting to bring all religions together including Hindu, Islam, Buddhist, Jaines, and liberal churches, I am more certain than ever that this "church" will be involved in the end times scenario.

It's a very good book. Many Catholics can know the truth by reading it and can become faithful Christian and can be saved. The author is well versed in this subject. So many Catholics do not really know the teaching of their religion;they don't know if there are errors and deceptions in it.By reading it they will be convinced that they cannot still trust in the Roman Catholic religion.I recommend the Catholics to make it a must to read it.

It is, without a doubt, a compelling must-read for all who are true Christians with a Christ-centered focus and a desire to know Him, His Word & seek the blessing of knowing & understanding end-time prophecy - to include Catholic & Protestant alike. God alone knows who are His and one day the wheat will be separated from the tares. This book is NOT about bashing Catholics as individuals - but rather about the role the Catholic Church will play in the end times. It is about the true history of the Roman Church. It is about times to come. If you find that pride & emotion are intermixed with what you're reading, please stop and pray God lead you through them. Ultimately, it's about the Truth. In the end, that's all there is.

Haven't finished it yet but Dave Hunt has confirmed what I have always suspected. The woman on the beast is in-fact the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church throughout it's history has fit the description of this woman to a "T"..even down to the colors that represent it. I'm in shock at the great detail of Johns vision and the parallels to the Catholic Church. Anyone who is Catholic may disagree with the author about the nature of the woman but if they look at the facts objectively they have to admit that the odds are stacked against them. My only complaint with the book is that I've felt like I've been sitting through a 3 hour lecture on Catholic Church history..but when one looks at the whole picture they realize it's absolutely necessary to understand the Church's history in relation to this prophecy.

Remember that John was ordered to write down these words not necessarily for the people of his own time, nor any time of which could be revealed in this text of Revelation. It was written so that future generations who will have discernment and understanding may interpret Revelation correctly. (Blessed are those who have seen and believe; but even more so those who have not seen and yet believe). An excellent book with superb research and a fine understanding of prophetic material.

I finally read "A Woman Rides the Beast", that's right, I read it all the way through. A friend kept urging me too. I wish I could have read it twenty years ago when I 'came out of her'. I do not believe that this is 'Catholic bashing' since it is factual and true (check the references/bibliography).I happen to have "Vicars of Christ" by Peter De Rosa, one of the references often quoted by Hunt.I checked some of the quotes and found them accurate, I therefore have every reason to believe that his other research is accurate and true.I found "The Woman Rides the Beast" to be a well written and documented book and worthy of recommendation.Dear Christian if you do not trust Dave Hunt then trust the Word of God. Proverbs 1:29 "For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord:",Hosea 4:6 "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge,...".

A very inciteful book - I'm to have read it with an opened mind as it has changed my view of Catholicism. His sources are mostly Catholic Historians or documents.I have been studying Catholcism from the Vatican's website and found that Dr Hunt's not off-key! The Catechism is full of what Bible-believers should consider trash!I pray that Catholics will consider researching what their Church really IS.

This is a very well thought out and well researched book. Many will cry "Catholic Basher" when they read it because Dave does tow the ecumenical party line. The charge is undeserved. This book is written well, and LOVINGLY. It is not vindictive or accusatory. Dave simply reports history and gives his insight of years of study of Biblical Prophecy. One can disagree with his prophetical views, but his history is well documented. I strongly recommend this book and the companion DVD. Very good stuff that will open the eyes of people who don't know church history.

Overall a good read with many historical facts. Educated readers will know when the author is reporting biblical / historic facts, or going off on a tangent(And he does do this). Keep your bible/concordances ready for this one folks. I find the point of contention: Is this just a slanderous attack on the Roman Catholic Church, or did Mr.Hunt do his home work and come to a startling conclusion. I can tell you this, being born into the Catholic Church, If a Woman is ever allowed into the Papacy, it starts a chain of events which will ultimately lead to Revelation 17:3.(How else can a woman be drunk on the blood of the saints?) And on that day many other Roman Catholics, including myself will be on our knees thanking God for reveled prophecy.

Not Factual, Satan will gladly feed you 5% truth, just to get you to eat 95% evil and lose your soul. My view? Bad use of your time. If you want to read about what the Catholic Church teaches, and is, purchase a catechism.

Judging by the comments of the people that are critical of this book, it appears like they have never read it. The book is well documented, mostly from Roman Catholic sources. The teaching that the Roman Church under the papacy is the harlot church in Revelation 17 and 18, is not new. There are few that teach this today, not because of the evidence, but because they have fallen pray to the jaws of the ecumenical movement. Dave's exegetical and historical work is excellent in this book. We should be thankful some Christians are still around willing to tell the truth, even when it is not popular. This book is not mean spirited. Dave shows he loves Catholics enough to tell them the truth by writing this book. Read the book and find out for yourself.

This book is very well put together, with hundreds of documented references to primary sources by the author. He presents an extremely compelling analysis of Revelation 17 & 18, identifying the woman on the beast as the Roman Catholic Church. I commend Mr. Hunt on his courageous stand which can be awfully lonesome in the recent age of "love gospel" "Christian" leaders. Mr. Hunt stands on the shoulders of and alongside the giants of the past eras who uncompromisingly stood strong for their Christian faith, such as the Albigenses, and individuals such as Tyndale, Luther, Wesley, Calvin, Zwingli, Ironside, and the millions of Christian martyrs down the ages who died for their faith at the hands of Roman Catholics. This book documents it all with solid data; but don't just take my word for it - buy this book today and check out its claims for yourself.
