In her latest book, Kathi Lipp urges today's busy woman to pause for a moment and focus on praying for God to move in her life. With humor and insight, Kathi Lipp helps navigate the reader through the mountain that is prayer, providing examples of Scriptures to pray, practical steps to making prayer a daily habit, and true stories of women who prayed God's Word for their lives.

Part I (Chapters 1-3) helps the reader cultivate a mindset and space for prayer. Kathi Lipp not only addresses the bigger question of why we should pray, but she also tackles the little things that often keep us from prayer, like a wandering mind or packed schedule.

Part II (Chapters 4-17) provides fourteen specific areas to pray God's Word for your life, such as in your marriage, in your finances, or when you're feeling overwhelmed. You can pray through a different chapter every day or focus on a specific chapter during a particular season of life, making this a versatile prayer devotional book you can return to. The stories interspersed throughout each chapter are funny, thought provoking, and encouraging. Some of the stories still have me smiling and thinking, "Oh yeah, been there!"

As the title indicates, this book is all about praying God's Word, and each chapter is filled with Scripture passages relating to the chapter's topics. Each Scripture passage is followed by a prayer, which you can pray or model your own prayer off of.

Finally, the practical steps integrated throughout the entire book–going for a walk, rethinking your to-do list, or seeking professional help, for example–provide a healthy action-oriented complement to the contemplative nature of prayer. We need both stillness and action in our lives, and this book recognizes that.

Praying God's Word for Your Life challenges the reader to take hold of the promises in Scripture and find comfort and joy in God's Word.

I have to admit, I am a Kathi fan and have finished all of her books in one sitting including this one.   Unlike Kathi's other "Project Books" this has a more serious tone.  I quickly read "Praying God's Word for Your Husband" and was inserting my name in some cases instead of my husbands.  So, I am thrilled she wrote this one.  This was a harder read in the fact it was about praying for myself instead of others. Why does it seem easier to pray for others?  I have to agree with other readers this one is not a speed read but a devotional.  In this book she intentionally asks you to plan your time and challenges you to go "Beyond Quiet Time" and get a prayer partner.  Like her other books, she challenges the reader not to be afraid of taking the next step!

After reading Kathi Lipp's Praying God's Word for Your Husband, I knew her new release, Praying God's Word for Your Life would be a winner. And I was right!

Kathi begins by offering practical tips for making prayer more of a habit and even gives reasons why praying Scripture helps us stay focused and makes us better pray-ers. While the idea of praying Scripture is not new and many of us are sold it, I think we sometimes get bogged down trying to find the right Scriptures to pray in the right situation. That's where Kathi's new book comes in. She has done all of the hard work for us. She has taken all sorts of situations and topics for prayer, and she has searched God's Word for relevant Scriptures we can pray over them. She addresses things like feeling overwhelmed, job situations, husband-wife relationships, parenting, spiritual growth, guilt over past mistakes, and much, much more.

This book is practical, and it's one you'll want to keep in the basket close to where you pray. I know it's one I'll be referring to weekly, if not daily. And I'll likely be copying some verses onto index cards to carry with me to pray at opportune moments--in the grocery store line, in the carpool lane, in the dentist's office.

The book focuses on praying God's Word, but Kathi does manage to sprinkle stories throughout--stories of her own prayer struggles and victories, and stories from women of all ages and walks of life. Readers see that prayer is work--that we often pray long and hard before we see results, but the answers do come. These stories just add a spark to the prayer warrior's passion.

If you're looking to deepen your prayer life, there's no better way than to pray Scripture. Let Kathi be your tutor as you learn to pray in God's will by praying His Word over your life. Snag a copy of her book, Praying God's Word for Your Life.

We women pray for family, friends, etc. but not so much for ourselves, feeling that might be selfish. Kathi Lipp knows that needs to change, if only one minute at a time to start. We'll then see important changes in our lives.

Lipp begins this book with how to prepare your attitude and heart to pray. She deals with likely obstacles to this crucial time with God. She gives tools to make prayer life better and stronger, with reasons why, such as God's desire to give us in abundance.

Part Two, the longer section of the book is awesome. Written in her usual conversational style, the book reads easily. Kathi focuses on thirteen areas and times when we need to pray, such as about our health or anxieties. She quotes relevant scriptures, then adds a short prayer.

I've personally often disliked written prayers, because they didn't speak what my heart felt. But Kathi Lipp's prayers ring true and honest. She avoids 'churchy' talk for 'real' requests that women relate to.

This is a book to keep by your prayer place and refer to for many prayer session, years worth, even. The writing will speak to your heart and help you speak to God.

Kathi Lipp in her new book, "Praying God's Word for Your Life" Book Two in her Praying God's Word series published by Revell gives us a look at the power God has given us to change our lives God's way.

From the Back Cover: You pray for others-but are you forgetting to pray for yourself?

Many of us find it easy to pray for the concerns and well-being of others. But when it comes to praying for ourselves, we may wonder, Should I pray for my own needs? Are any prayers too big or too small? Are my prayers selfish? Does praying really make a difference?

Praying God's Word for Your Life gives women the direction and Scripture we need to bring purpose and power to our prayers. In her warm, approachable style, Kathi Lipp shares more than one hundred specific prayers for our lives, relationships, worries, mistakes, faith, and more. The simple strategies Kathi reveals will help each of us create a habit of praying with renewed boldness, consistency, and expectation.

Do you pray for yourself? Of course, however some of us might continue on and say only when they face a crisis or moment of decision. Some of us don't even think that God wants us to pray for ourselves. Sounds kind of selfish, no? Yet the truth is far from being selfish it is what God wants you to do. When the Disciples asked Jesus to teach them to pray Jesus gave them what we call the "Our Father". That is a very personal prayer. Want to pray God's way so that you can see answers to your prayers and change in your life? Kathi Lipp is going to show you how to pray and let the Holy Spirit do the changing. Part One is three chapters that are "Preparing For Prayer". Then in Part Two, the actual "Prayers For Your Life" Ms. Lipp provides fourteen chapters on topics to pray for with verses of Scripture that show God's thinking and practical steps. Want a book that will enrich your relationship with God and with others then this book is for you. I recommend this book highly.
