Zondervan/HarperAudio Mere Christianity - Unabridged Audiobook on CD

The most popular of C.S. Lewis' works of nonfiction, Mere Christianity has sold several million copies worldwide. It brings together Lewis' legendary broadcast talks of the war years, talks in which he set out simply to "explain and defend the belief that has been common to nearly all Christians at all times." Rejecting the boundaries that divide Christianity's many denominations, Lewis finds a common ground on which all Christians can stand together, and provides an unequaled opportunity for believers and nonbelievers alike to hear a powerful, rational case for their faith. It is a collection of scintillating brilliance that remains strikingly fresh and confirms C.S. Lewis' reputation as one of the leading writiers and thinkers of our age. Unabridged. Read by Geoffrey Howard. 6 hours. 5 CDs.

I'm always looking for comebacks or answers to those unbelievers; it's hard to get through to some people, even those close to you. I will listen to this a few times....it gives me the thought process, at times needed, to prove our point! There is no other way to salvation!

I enjoyed this well written, organize and insightful look at why Christianity and I mean Christ is real and important to each person for salvation. While I do not agree with some doctrines and beliefs hinted at but this was not the purpose of the book, felt incouraged and refreshed to have herd this book.

This was my first audio book and I am now a believer! It is wonderful. The actor who does the reading hits just the right mark-he is not 'acting' what he's reading, rather, he's allowing the words to be the 'star', as well they should be.As for the content-I have never, in a long life of being a reader, ever read C. S. Lewis and I wonder now that I never did. This is a brilliantly simple, elegantly articulate book of why it makes more sense to be a believer than to be an atheist. Lewis mentions his coming to Christ, although this book is not solely about that but he builds thought upon thought and logic upon logic leading the reader (listener) to the only logical conclusion possible. This audio book is now in the hands of my atheist son-in-law who is also a brilliant person. Maybe one incredibly bright mind will light another incredibly bright mind.
