A vividly earthy retelling of the life of Godric of Finchale, a 12th-century English holy man, this no-holds-barred narrative will grip you until the last starkly poetic sentence. From his journeys as a pirate and pilgrim to his final deathbed confessions, Godric's spiritual struggles will impel you to look deeper into your own heart. 178 pages.

This book is a must read for serious Christians who like finely woven prose, and are not afraid of devastatingly honest portrayals of people's lives. Godric zigzags between being a saint and a sinner. He does each to extremes. The only thing more shocking than Godric's excesses is God's unyielding acceptance and grace for the sinner/saint.
