This is a profound book for me - clearly describing parental ways to love, children's adaptation to their parents as well as their own unique gifts. So helpful to know the areas we need to focus on and be kind to ourselves and others in the process. A real win/win book!

First off, I rated "Meets Expectations" as "Poor" because honestly, I expected it to be like another book I'd read about parent/child love styles. It was completely different so I'm glad it didn't meet my expectations!
In How We Love Our Kids the authors Milan and Kay Yerkovich discuss the 5 styles of parents (and consequently their children) and how to adjust the parts that don't work so that you can be a better parent to your kids. They also include information on 5 "Unique Children" (introverted, free-spirited, etc) which in addition to the 5 given earlier in the book, pretty much covers all kids. No, it's not perfect, and the method sounds pretty cheesy but I can see how and why it would be beneficial. I am going to start recommending this book to parents of all ages who are looking for some parenting advice.

How We Love Our Kids: The 5 Love Styles of Parenting is full of great information. We were all brought up differently. Therefore, we all know love as something different. We can transform our kids by changing certain things about how we love.
In This Book:
*Identify which of the 5 love styles you have.
*Discover surprising dynamics that shape your parenting.
*Get rid of your "buttons" so your kids can't push them.
*Create a close connection with your kids that will last a lifetime.
*Learn the 7 gifts every child needs.
I love the Parent Toolbox in the back of the book. I gained a lot of knowledge from this book and I am grateful for it.

Do you ever feel like, as a parent, you are messing up big time with your kids? If we are honest with ourselves, we will see that we do make mistakes as parents, but those mistakes are fixable.
In their book, How We Love Our Kids: The 5 Love Styles of Parenting, Milan and Kay Yerkovich offer hope to parents. In this book, they describe five ways we parent our children and why we parent that way. With each parenting style, the Yerkovich's offer suggestions on how to overcome problems that arise from being that type of parent. They then go on to discuss the types of children and how to best parent them.
This is not a "do this and you will be the greatest parent" guidebook. It is simply a book that teaches parents to understand before reacting. Parents must understand why they parent they way they do, and they must understand what is really behind the behavior of their children. Doing both of these, encourages the authors, will strengthen the family relationship.
I highly recommend this book to parents who are eager to better the relationships in their home. I enjoyed reading this book and have already begun to use what I have learned from it.
I received a free copy this book from the publisher for the purpose an honest review.

I would recommend this to everyone that has a child. As well as there other book How we Love. You can tell these people are spot on and have real life experience with how we love our kids and spouses!! If your struggling or not and just want to build your family up. I would say this is a great book. This would be something I could read over and over again and still be resourceful. It's eye opening about how we identify ourselves and so can relate to these love styles!!Love, Love, Love you won't regret your purchase!!
