This book was wonderful to read, and I enjoyed it much more than the movie; although, the movie is also very well done, and it is very enjoyable to watch. I would have liked to read the book first, but I wasn't able to get it before my husband bought the movie.
We are reminded in this book to never take anyone for granted, because we never know when our time with them will end. We must love each other, and spend our time wisely - lest we regret our decisions when faced with death.
Loved the characters. Problems these men had, people have today. Families can relate to these people. Makes you want to draw closer to our Lord and Saviour. Sorry the book wasn't longer.
I enjoyed this book even more than the movie which was beautifully done. The book had more information included than could be in the movie, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This story truly shows the character of mankind, both good and bad. It reveals how easily it is to be led astray by worldly things and the battle trying to be someone everyone expects you to be. It also shows the true friendship of all these men and their heartaches.
The Author Randy Alcorn made this statement ."About 20 percent of the book comes directly from the movie ;the other 80 percent I had to invent to make this a novel." Why if the movie is so good did Why did he use so little of it! What he used is very easy to identify. The best part of when he added was the relationship between Javier and his parents. In my opinion what he did with Dylan did not make the story better. The book as whole with out any movie connection has a worthwhile message to it. I did like the continuation of Catherine & Caleb Holt from Fireproof. as well as the Brock Kelly From Facing The Giants. In both the Book and Movie it was so very good to see how much Nathan would fight for and protect his children!
Can't wait to see the movie! It's nice to read a book where people care about each other, have good morals and character and still work on the police force!
This was a very powerful book. I couldn't put it down once starting it. We traveled about 75 miles (the closest to our area) to see the movie of the same name, and were not disappointed. This is a must read!! Highly recommended!!!
The book was a good introduction to the movie which I have not seen as of yet. I understand that the book was written after the movie was made. Can't wait to see the movie.
Wow. This story really makes you take notice and change the order of responsibilities in your life. It shows that even though how we make a living may be important, it does not compare to who we are living for and how they are important to us. I can't wait to take my family to see the movie.
