I stumbled on these books at a Sunday School Storytelling seminar last summer. Steven James is a master at drawing mental pictures both verbally and in writing. I am a slow reader and I read both books in a very short time, spending the whole time at the edge of my seat. One thing that I didn't like was how vividly he describes the dark evil that can exist in man. Although it was no different from the darkness seen in in an episode of Criminal Minds. It was a book that I recommended to my husband, but not my parents. If you like criminal suspense, you will LOVE these books.I look forward to how James will have God work more in the lives of the different characters, in future books.
