This is the fairest attempt at staying faithfull to the biblical text that I know of. It's very thorough and includes a section that gives practical suggestions on how to incorporate this gift into various church settings. Even John MacArthur, who believesthis gift has ceased, feels this is the best presentation that this gift is still in operation. This work will also, hopefully, bring some balance to some extreme views held by manyof our brothers and sisters. May God grant us all grace to know and serve him better.

This is a highly biblical presentation of the gift of prophecy. It should be in every Christian's library especially churches which have been skewed and influenced by the prophetic movement. This book and a serious investigation of the biblical texts would bring balance to the extremes that are current in vogue. The only thing that could be added is an engagement with the truth claims of the prophecy movement perhaps as an appendix.

The book says a prophet can be off at times. Clearly unbiblical. This is becoming a common false doctrine. So much that it's scary.
