Standard Publishing Tales of the Not Forgotten

Follow real-life stories as they take you on a journey to far away lands to meet unknown faces. Travel through the challenges and see the hand of the great Storyweaver writing endings you'd never imagine. Beth Guckenberger writes the true stories of four orphans in different countries weaving the theme of God as the great Storyweaver of their lives. A concluding chapter brings parallels to the lives of the preteen audience for which she writes. Inspire a child with this book or teachers can combine it with the Tales of the Not Forgotten Leader's Guide for a 6-session mission study ideal for children aged 7 - 12.

“Tales of the Not Forgotten” is made up real Life Stories based on the missionary work of Beth Guckenberger and her ministry with orphans in Mexico, Haiti, Nigeria, and India
Each story is designed as an adventure to stimulate elementary age children to a new awareness and concern for missions: How they can pray, how they can give, where there is a need, and how they can serve.
Each story introduces children with a unique need to illustrate a different perspective of God’s love and provision and how this can impact life choices. The stories are age appropriate with applications child can understand and implement.
I found the exercises designed to encourage creative imagination and interaction especially effective.
A six session leader’s guide is available as a separate resource to accompany the book. It is formatted as a fully editable CD which includes: Take home resources for family discussion, additional activities for classroom use, suggestions for service projects for kids, and many other easily adaptable ideas.
“Tales of the Not Forgotten” is an outstanding “Kids Mission Resource” from the “Storyweaver” series. Highly recommended.

At some point in our lives we have all felt that God has forgotten us, that He is not hearing our prayers and does not have a plan for our lives. God is the greatest storyweaver of them all and in the Tales of the Not Forgotten, we get to glimpse into the stories of various lives and their own personal reminders that God has not forgotten who they are and the paths He has set their lives on.
This book is a major eye opener to the things that are countered throughout this world and the need for God every day. Each chapter follows someone else's story and each story takes place all across the world from Mexico to Nigeria to India, each has their own story to tell and how God connected their stories with someone else's at just the right time. This book will have you laughing and crying and wake you up to the world we live in.
I loved this book, and the stories shared throughout the pages, Tales of the Not Forgotten is an important lesson for all of us, and through this book you will remember how great our God is and the plans He has placed on each of our lives.
This book is written in such a way that it is great for all ages, with facts about each country and side notes as well as reminders of what is being learned throughout the chapter. Tales of the Not Forgotten is a great way to introduce kids to what is happening in other countries and to missionary work.
I received this book complimentary from the publisher through the Litfuse Publicity program.
