You must get this book if you at all interested, just do it. I took the test & got some up dated answers. I think we need to stay fresh & reviewing our gifts is powerful. Peter is an awesome teacher & and man of God.

A good little starter book. He goes in greater depth in his other book- "How to use your spiritual gifts within the church." Saying that- if you are interested and want and general overall view- this easy read gets your taste buds wet. Has a questionaire in the back to take which is fun.

As a traditional conservative, coming across this book was an example of what it means to "read wide, but with discernment" (since the author identifies with Charismatic and New Apostolic Reformation theology). But authorship and theological worldview aside, Mr. Wagner does present valid and timeless truths regarding the purpose for spiritual gifts and their emphasis for appropriate ministry within the church. Though you could quibble back and forth about a few gifts he includes as spiritual gifts, the principles he outlines about gifts are the same no matter which gift you're talking about. Once more, the pitfalls and confusions he discusses in relation to spiritual gifts are right on the money (and key to note). Though he doesn't take much time at all to define or explain the spiritual gifts listed, he does a great job motivating you to want to find your gift so that you may begin ministering effectively within the church. Of-course, the gift inventory test is what predominantly piqued my interest in the book and I did find it helpful. All in all a pleasant, easy read. Taken in conjunction with other material about spiritual gifts, Mr. Wagner presents useful, helpful information.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this book. Being a Southern Baptist Pastor, I was skeptical about whether this book would be a good resource for me and the church I pastor. While Mr. Wagner and I disagree on some interpretations of the gifts, we have very similar beliefs on the vast majority of them. I would recommend this book to any minister wanting to inform their congregations of the important subject of Spiritual Gifts.

I found this book to be a real eye opener. If you have ever listened to a preacher or someone telling you their experiences and have felt condemned because you aren't "there yet" or don't have the urge to do what they do, then this book will bless you. It relieved me of condemnation and helped point out giftings that are mine.
