Abingdon Press The Time of Your Life: Self Time Management for Pastors

"Unless time efficiency methods are linked with the moral purpose of keeping people whole, they can be as dangerous as teaching others to shoot a gun without knowing what they intend to shoot," asserts clergy counselor Robert L. Randall in this unexpected and surprising new approach to time management for pastors and other church leaders.

As a pastor, I was truly disapponted with this book. Most of the book deals with psychological jargon and little biblical content. Terms such as self-cohesion (need to have it all together) and self-object permeated the book. You cannot minister effectively unless you have self-cohesion (what about the brokenness that God uses?) or if you are not self-affirming. One needs to have pride to enhance self-cohesion (p. 93-94) and ministers need to affirm themselves in order to be effective in ministry. People are created good (p. 69) and need to see that goodness. The book seemed so promising! :(
