Thomas Nelson Gospel Parallels, NRSV Edition

This book is a side-by-side comparison of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke. The parallel arrangement facilitates study of the first three Gospels, highlighting the similarities and differences in language and chronology. This completely revised edition, set in the NRSV, features a readable new type, cross-references, an updated critical apparatus, and a brief history of the transmission of the Greek New Testament. Now, instead of forcing the synoptic texts into an arbitrary timetable, this simple side-by-side alignment lets you do your own comparisons.

The layout of this book is NOT clear or straightforward - at least it is not so for what I was hoping to find in this book.
This book attempts to blend Matthew, Mark and Luke into a single harmonious account. The writer attempts to place all of the accounts in chronological order with each other. I suppose that's okay; but I was hoping to see parallels with Mark all together and the Q sayings in Matthew and Luke listed side-by-side.
Studying the Gospels in parallel in Mark's order is interesting. Then, following the Q stuff in Luke's order is also interesting but a bit more difficult. I was hoping this book would help. It doesn't.

I have been looking for years for this type of side-by-side comparison of the 3 gospels. It is much easier to use rather than having to go from pages of one gospel to another gospel-holds my interest more also.

This has been an enjoyable and easily understood way to study the gospels for my teenage daughter. She especially enjoys the simplicity of layout & design.
