David C. Cook Be Worshipful (Psalms 1-89), Repackaged

The Psalms are filled with poetry, and laments to the Lord. King David and the other psalmists knew dire circumstances as well as great joy. Messianic psalms point to the Lord Jesus Christ while others are psalms of praise and thanksgiving, affirmation and trust, not to mention psalms that call down God's wrath. Through Wiersbe's teaching, you will come to know God as both transcendent and immanent, far above and yet personally with us in our pilgrim journey--the "God Most High" and "Immanuel-God with us." You will learn about God your heart will be prepared to worship. 2-3 study questions for each Psalm are included for further discussion.

I purchased this book as my first in the "Be Series" by Wiersbe. It's been a refreshing look at the Psalms for me, and I am sure to add more of the series to my library in the near future. My only wish is that the series came in hardcover categorized anthologies or boxed sets, rather than single books. Still, the individual paperbacks are easier to transport to group studies!
