Reformation Heritage / Soli Deo Gloria Taking Root

The stories in this book have to do with plants taking root. But as you read through them, you will not run across tales of flowers, leaves, and dirt as much as you will about spiritual plants in the garden of the Lord. They are stories about how God gives people new spiritual life by rooting their hearts in the grace of His Son Jesus Christ. Read these stories and take the time to ask God about causing your heart to take deep root into the life-giving soil of Jesus.

This book has been such a blessing to our bedtime reading. My 7-year-old son pleads for me to read it every night! These stories are especially needed today. My only concern is what to buy after we have finished reading all three titles in this series. These are faith builders without a doubt, excellent and praiseworthy!

This book and the two with it, Bearing Fruit and Sowing the Seed, are just excellent books. They are brief stories of conversions or other spiritual lessons and we have found them to be very powerful and enjoyable to read. These stories are not silly. They are about children who wept for weeks over their sins until the Holy Spirit saved them and then they were filled with joy; a boy who led family worship though the youngest while his mother and brothers persecuted him, until they were all ashamed and saved; a slave who was beaten weekly for preaching until the master broke down and asked for forgiveness and for help to be saved. I read these to my 3 and 5 yr olds and they love them.
